Big Night Out coin mech error??

Post by Itstheh »

Hi guys,

I have just purchased a Big Night Out fruity (It's my first dip into the fruit machine world after spending some time on video game cabinets), but when I power it on I get an error 10 02.

In the book it states "Mech. More than 1 line HI"

The coin mech is a C435.

I googled it as much as I could and have cleaned the coin path with some detergent on a damp cloth, but this did no good.

I have also checked there are no coins jammed in the mech, and left the machine on for over half an hour with the error displayed. It did not stop alarming or reset. (Yes, I did pull one of the wires off the speaker before doing it)

Pushing the "start" button does not clear the error.

If I start the machgine with my finger on the start button it does come up with another error (stuck switch) that then stops the alarm and 10-2 error, but the machine doesnt finish booting up. However, when in this state I can put in a coin, and it will go through the system and into the hopper or cash box. Does this mean the coin mech is getting power as I thought coins would automatically fall out if it was powered down?

I don't mind purchasing a new mech if this one has gone to the same place as all the old calculators, but I just wondered if anyone who has more experience than me would mind throwing in there 2 cents worth of advice please.

I have noticed that on the PSU, the led for the 10A +50V (LD4) is not lit up, but the fuse is fine after pulling and checking it with a meter. I am assuming the LED is broken, rather than the power, and am also sure the coin mech works off +12volts, so even if the 50 volts power isn't coming out, that it doesn't affect this issue.

The only thing that does perplex me, is that in the manual (yes, I have read it) says that the mech should have a green diagnostic LED, but after removing it and looking all over it, I cannot see one anywhere.

Here is the coin mech in question, does anyone know where this green led is supposed to be situated on one?? Or can anyone give me any advice on how to proceed before I hit the buy it now button. I have read of people replacing them only to find the fault still exists.

I can't see it anywhere, but can you put them on free play until I get it sorted as I cannot see a way to do that?

1 thing I did forget to mention was that with the 17 pin plug removed from the coin mech, the system starts up fine and goes into atract mode.
