caveman capers (or whatever it is called)
i suspect that this is very JPable, i've only played it a few times but it does seem easy to read when it is ready to pay. i cut and ran with £3 but i probably should have had the balls to keep going.
it amuses me that you can wallop seven shades out of a dinosaur egg with a dirty great club but if it lands from too steep a parabola onto grass it breaks.

nobody ever wins on those things.
It's not a bad little game this one. It is as you suspect very 'readable' in terms of whether it is worth playing - I've seen the points needed for £1 vary between about 800 and 2000 - but as with every other modern game the spoilers kick in every time (somewhere about £3 to £4 normally) so it would have to be in a very benevolent mood for the Jackpot to be feasible.
The maximum length of a shot seems to be about 206, or has anyone managed to exceed that?

I've seen 10 206s on the whole scoreboard but not anything more. If it was like those games online it would have power-ups to let you get much more. I wonder why they didn't put those in?
It is shit on the Itbox because the egg gets stuck in the air just before you swing. Gamesnet seems much more fair.

No wonder I drink!
That applies so frequently to almost everything on there that they could use it as an advertising slogan!tka wrote:It is shit on the Itbox
Talking of advertising, I know this has been mentioned before but did I really see 'tka' featured in the graffiti on the background to a futile game of Cops and Robbers I played last night?
Similarly I know Demmerz is on there as well, but who is 'Pete'?

there was a post on here a while back with various screen caps from FC, C&R and my tribute on scrabble. can't seem to find it any more.
it's nice when GWHL puts easter eggs in for us.

I've just played this on the ItBox for the first time and you weren't exaggerating, were you??tka wrote:It is shit on the Itbox because the egg gets stuck in the air just before you swing. Gamesnet seems much more fair.

To clarify the advice then, check out this game if you find it on one of the large oval Gamesnets but avoid it if it's on an ItBox. In fact, I'd advise ignoring the ItBox completely - as a consumer it's the only way to respond to a product that has been allowed to deteriorate so thoroughly!
Yes. Vote 4 meNil Satis wrote: did I really see 'tka' featured in the graffiti on the background to a futile game of Cops and Robbers I played last night?

just like to add a few thoughts about caveman capers on the itbox.
0.10 m.
if anyone here was running a company with thousands of machines would you;
a.try the new game to see if it works even for just 5 minutes. or
b.go fuck it i'm sure it'll be fine i mean it works on the gamesnet and we've decimated the payout structure in comparison so what could possibly go wrong.
a pretty good game by todays standards ruined once again on the worst games cabinet in existence.
all hail the mighty shitbox!

Hi foxy
I thought the same after the first two ItBoxes I saw Caveman Capers on played like absolute dogs but after trying a few more it seems that this does vary from machine to machine. The animation definitely isn't as smooth as on the Gamesnets, meaning the timing of your shots has to be different and it is still harder to get consistently good shots, but if you can find a reasonably good cabinet then if it is definitely a better bet than most of the rest of the dross on there.
From quite a lot of plays at this one on both Gamesnets and ItBoxes, the answer to my earlier question seems to be that 207 is the upper limit of the possible shots i.e. scores of 206.xx seem to be the best you can get, unless there is some special trick I haven't yet discovered!
