If people didn't have to register I wouldn't be able to get £5 out of Paragon Battleships every time. You know that sonar thing which was posted a while back. The public don't know about that but we do.
Also your Football Crazy list which was VERY good, if every player had that we'd be only getting 30p for each £1.
Is this a Cool face?
If you dont like how this under active forum works, go browse a different one.. Simple.microhead wrote:for so much what? It's not exactly the world's most active forum. Most forums don't require you to register to read the posts, so of course loads of people aren't going to bothercool wrote:Mr Microhead to ask you to spend so little time registering for so much is hardly too much ask!
As our long standing members will appreciate, there are very good reasons why certain sections of this site are for members only.

Aw shucks, you're making me blush!cool wrote:I respect people who I have disagreements with and who have had a go at me a lot more than a watcher / non-contributor e.g Nils Satis who I think talks a lot of sense and is a valuable contributor despite having a pop at me over the Litten Tree debacle !

Thanks for this - I do try to be constructive and to post as much useful information as I can, otherwise there's not a whole lot of point in joining a forum like this is there?
As for microhead's request for people to be able to read posts without registering, my view would be unless people are prepared to contribute something, even if that's just the bare minimum of taking a couple of minutes to register, why should they be able to access information which people post on here in good faith? No one has ever in the seven months I've been a member posted the sort of crap you see on other similar sites and there is often something of interest on here. I can take credit for this one:
but I didn't mind posting that as I knew by the universal laws of Good Karma I would get plenty back in return.tka wrote:If people didn't have to register I wouldn't be able to get £5 out of Paragon Battleships every time. As for Google, you are no doubt right in saying that the registration process prevents pages being found via there but plenty of people do manage somehow to find out about this forum so if the interest is sufficient and people are prepared to show a bit of initiative, they will find us. If people don't have sufficient interest or can't show a bit of initiative then surely there are places much more suited to them - here for example:

Yes, gasp in wonder as the four or five saddest people in the world ask each other EVERY day whether their favourite presenters are appearing on that night's edition of The Mint (where they still haven't given the answer to that "Nineteen Minus Five" puzzle). THAT forum is freely available via Google...

sorry, it's this little thing I do called "thinking for myself"Matt Vinyl wrote:Microhead - it's simple, and it's been said before -:
If you like it, stay. If you don't, go.
We can all 'accept' the way things are, why are you finding it so difficult?

Anyway it was a response to those who keep going on about google searches.
