Amazing Skill Misses

Post by Master of Games »

Just missed my 1st skill of the year. I hold my hands up an say I wasn't concentrating on the Lone Ranger, last 1 on 35 but I was asked a few seconds before by the lovely old lady in the arcade whether I'd like a sandwich. I swear she did it on purpose! Anyone else had this? People waiting for you to start on a skill before they ask you something?

Hmm. Shall I shuffle the chairs around when ol' Cap'n is on the board, or on GUAC?

I remember fooking up a number runner on a Terminator in an arcade whilst Trayhop was attacking a Lep. Of all the things - number runner lol. Felt a right numpty.

My record on amazings is truly appalling. I'll nail a few in a row then miss one on a fiver. Its the sort of skill you feel you should never miss, but the fact its straight forward puts me under pressure. What winds me up is when you're halves with someone and you have to step in to do a skill because they don't fancy it. Then you miss it and the other person tuts or starts moaning at you. This has happened to me many times over the years and recently. I'll still never stand down from a skill though.

lol ,,,,,,,

when im out with martin , we are both very laid back ,,,,,, so if one of us makes the wrong playing decision that results in a loss (however huge) , then theres no tuts or moans , we just move on to the next machine etc ,,,,,,,, lifes too short for fall outs with m8's

But what about those absolutely horrific misses? Like my complete miss on a Jackpot Genie (Electrocoin) when I missed the FIRST speed on the wild thing (I think its Magic Carpet). Missing on a quid or 2 on Pacman/Amazing. Give me your stories, the more embarrassing the better.

I actually hit skills far better (ie. middle all the way on wild things) when being watched by a stranger, can't explain why, even if it feels hostile I just seem to concentrate better although that sounds ridiculous because obviously your mind is in 2 places when it happens. Its when a fruit machine partner is around that i'm far more likely to have a hiccup or 5.

I never forget 1 time on a Dead Man in a front room pub, I was thinking I AM ABOUT TO BECOME A DEAD MAN! All I could see from the very corner of my left eye was a huge, huge person with their arms folded standing less that a foot away, watching me hit that wild thing, after all middles, he tapped me on the shoulder and said "Well done mate!" and he was just a local who was about 18, no sour comments, nothing negative at all.

A few weeks later, I park up outside the pub saw a load of people inside and went to walk in only to hear the front door being locked from the inside! Never went back!
