People stay longer, cos they're having fun playing the fruity. This means they spend money on drinks etc. And will possibly come back tomorrow and do the same.

not good for machine takings though. As they will be on it for ages, hence preventing others from also losing it in the time they'd be off it as they lost quicker...

Or equally less people play, because everyone knows that the machine is on its arse after some "twat came in and took the jackpot"
