Machines in casinos

Post by ROSSKEEN »

Has anyone ever seen a SWP in a casino?

The Grosvenor in Blackpool has a Games Warehouse cabinet although when I stuck a few quid in, someone has had fun with it, because absolutely nothing was playing.

Just thought it was ironically funny that next to the £4000 jackpot machines and the usual tables was a GW cabinet with £20 jackpot.

I've seen a few in Casinos when I'm on the poker circuit. They generally put them in the bars so the women can play them whilst hubby's doing his nuts at the roulette table.

I expect they see them as an amenity for the players rather than a cash generator.

24-18 months ago there was a very nice little SWP earner in the casino. and they didn't wise up very quickly. mind you, when people are putting £1k+ on the spin of a wheel, a few quid in my skyrocket from skill with prizes didn't seem to bother them.

the only one who minded was the chip-shouldered scottish cashier who eventually took exception that i never lost. bitch.
nobody ever wins on those things.

Until quite recently one particular casino chain had classic DOND, 1-100 and Millionaire 2007 on all their server based multi-game/roulette units. That meant you had depending on the casino about 20 to 40 seperate instances of each game in one casino. Was a nice little earner for a while.

I am going to a Grosvenor soon, I will have a look! I know that the Mint casino I visited didn't have any SWP's from what I could see.

casinos would have been good for a linked £1000 millionaire, surprised it never happened.

Oh yeah. The Gala in Leeds does this. Doesn't have much on it mind. Nuts/Scrabble was pretty much it the last time I was there.

About 18 years ago I had my membership for Hull casino cancelled (and was "helped" off the premises) for winning on an "Adders and Ladders" that was in the bar.

At one point a few Gala bingo establishments went down the SWP route but haven't seen/heard of one for ages.

needed assistance as legs were buckling under the weight of pound coins and shrapnel.

Yeah in general casinos weren't fans of professional players back in the day, although I used to know a couple of players that would work their nuts off all day and then blow it by 3am in casinos, just to start the grind again the following day.

'would work their nuts off all day and then blow it by 3am in casinos, just to start the grind again the following day'

still applicable from personal experience to some pub fruity players.
Im addicted to the thrill of making money rather more than the thrill playing a machine generates.

Casino's (except in tournaments with other players) exploit the adrenalin rush that people feel when gambling, when common sense goes out the window.
