Faulty Wiring?

Post by Eambo »

I have a 2002 Red Gaming Funfair game, and it has a few bulbs out. At first I thought it was the bulbs anyway, however after switching working bulbs into slots that weren't working, some of the ones that were working now don't work, and some that weren't working work occasionally. I assume it's faulty wiring, but how would I go about fixing it? I'm making it my little project to get it as close to new as I can, but unfortunately I've no experience in fixing these machines :-(

yeah it sounds like you have a loose common, either on the loom heading to the MPU or on the lamp holders. i suggest just making sure all the wires are secure and making connection on the lamp holders.

Hi Reel King :-)

Firstly, thanks a lot for your response, I appreciate it. I hope you can give me another, and be patient with me as I've never worked inside a fruit machine before.

How exactly do I secure the cables? They all seem to be daisy chained, and they're simply "pushed" in, I'm not sure if I need a special tool to push it further in or not. I'd love to fix this machine up, but I don't want to damage it, and so far simply opening and changing bulbs I've stopped 2 lights working >.<

just ensure the wire is being cut into by the metal on the lamp holders on your common wire on the bulbs that are off. just use a small flat head screwdriver, anything will do tho.
