I recall putting a tenner on Chilavert to score first at 33/1 in every Paraguay match at the '98 (I think) World Cup. Given that he was the designated penalty taker and often ventured upfield to take free-kicks, he represented good value. Sadly, he didn't score.
I'd be interested to know the Caps/Goals ratio for Jorge Campos of Mexico, too - seeing as he often played up front aswell as in goal for Mexico.
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy
Roger Milla is definately the oldest player to score at a world cup. Just watched a program on bbc3 about top 50 world cup shocks. Not sure if he's the eldest to have played. Milla was 42 years old
