recently bought the above machine, was working fine, then it started making wierd sound effects so turned off. turned on worked ok, then repeated it, so turned off again, it appears to be ok but now it wont accept coins of any sort, it puts them straight down to the winnings tray. i am a novice to fruit machines, so please be gentle. lol

weird sfx are quite common with old electrocoins, usually loose cashbox door or backdoor ,or even a blocked up coin mechanism .the noise is just a warning of this.........................and yours is probably a blocked mech.
i used to just turn them off unclip the mech and shake all the coins out all over the carpet ,anything jammed in there tight i would ram a screwdriver in to rectify.
you may of course want to use a bit more finesse

coin mech
i opened all the coin doors found my missing pound coin in the 50p tray at the bottom no loose coins seem to be jammed. not yet took the mech apart bit unsure what to do
is the board in properly?
when i mess with the board in my bar x when its plugged in (move it, holdit or whatever) it makes different noises depending on where im holding it,
make sure nothing touches the board that shouldnt
took me 6 months to find a working replacment board for my bar x, and even then i got lucky
