there were some heroic journeys to one of London's grimmest boozers last time. all power to this community of fruitchat.

i'd like to meet more of you, how about a night at the dogs somewhere like wimbledon? they have booze and fruits as well as some other gaming which none of us would claim to know. could be a good night out and hotels around there are not a rip-off.

also it is near enough to a big city so no problem in justifying the trip with slotting income from uncovered pubs.

Thought Grimsby to Southend was a bit further than 100 miles.

Surely mid England is the best for most people, say London or Birmingham or even Manchester.

Thorpe Park is in the middle of nowhere. Staines is nearest town,

Relatively easy to get to and relatively central.
Or how about Paradise Islands (tm)

I would not bother with Chessington. There's not enough there and what is there is too small. Go to Thorpe Park or Alton Towers but don't bother with Chessington.

There's a premier inn right next door to Chessington.

Thorpe Park not too sure but there's a lot of hotels in the nearby towns.
