For those who are interested, and there was a thread on this sometime last year, ONG BAK 2 is released this forthcoming Monday.

Can't remember it being released at the flicks though?

The last film I watched was Traitor, a terrorist film starring Guy Pearce and Don Cheadle. Picked it up on the cheap and it was quite good actually.

Yeah thats it Lugsy, Ong Bak 'The Beginning'. I think thats the UK name for Ong Bak 2.

No I'm not playing Borderlands anymore mate. Played it to death, got the full 1000/1000 achievements and traded it in for £37 (value). Since then I've missed 2 lots of dlc and a 3rd is on its way. :(

Shame really because imo it was GOTY last year, way better than MW2, but the irony is I've still got MW2 and I bought it on launch day!!

Played through Assassins Creed 2 last week and that was superb too, bought it from a friend for £10 and traded it in for £27. This time next year I'll be a millionaire.....or maybe not.

Currently trying to get into [PROTOTYPE] but its a chore.

What system do you have Lugsy?

ps3 mate ,i'm on borderlands second playthrough now(loving the souped up enemies) i'm now approaching level 50 apparently that is when things get really really good.
there will not be a game this good for a while methinks. the weaponry generation system is immense, as is a lot of the humanoid A.I
as soon as i max out at level 50 it'll be time for the dlc and then online :P

anyone seen rounders staring matt damon ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, great card game film.
Yeah awesome film, quite unrealistic on the poker front but good all the same. 21 was good too, the book was even better - Bringing down the house by Ben Mezrich, most of his books are pretty decent.
Bored of the grind.

Just watched Ong Bak - The Beginning, its quite disappointing to be honest. :( In the first hour there is too much to-ing and fro-ing in the story and only one decent fight scene, which is actually a very good scene.

The film picks up in the last half hour but its a shame the whole film wasn't action orientated. Tony Jaa is superb at what he does but this didn't have the wow factor of Ong Bak or Warrior King, its been a while since I have seen either of those but iirc both were much better than this (hazy memory - could be wrong).

In fact, I would say I prefered Unleashed and Fearless (both Jet Li) and the more 'arty' Hero, House of the Flying Daggers and CT,HD to this.

Why was this only 1 disc as opposed to the other 2 Tony Jaa movies which were both 2 discs? Hmmm.

No doubt I'll be pissed off when I see this in a play.com sale for £3 in 6 months time, but thats life. The only saving grace is the fact I won £17 on Hot Stuff 10 minutes before buying it, so effectively it was free, as was District 9 as well.

Verdict : very average.

yes , a slight letdown ,but not a disaster for chop socky fans . a bemusing ending also.

alot more work went into sets and costumes with this movie since it is a period piece and it was a long time in the making ,i think were expecting start to finish mayhem and that is why we are a bit deflated.
not a bad showcase of his skills in multiple martial arts and weaponry....particularly liked the 3 section staff 8)

i give it 7.5 out of 10

have you seen donnie chen's biopic of Ip Man ( bruce lee's teacher)?

I ain't seen Ip Man, I've looked at it instore but always chose something else ahead of it. Is it good, or at least is it worth full price?

The best weapon in the film (other than TJ himself) was the Scorpion-esqe 'Get over here!' rope thingy towards the end. 8)

Have you seen Blood: The Last Vampire? It was a chop socky film released on DVD towards the end of '09 and has some of the worst CGI effects I've ever seen lol. Can't remeber who the main star is (cba checking on IMDB) but she's female and its got Larry Lamb - Archie out of Eastenders and the gay grandad out of Corrie. Should be watched by all for a laugh.

hmv got ip man for 8 quid now i think.

if you want start to finish greenstick fractures look elsewhere. it's more of a story of oppression and a man who'd rather not fight but is forced to........hmm 'cliche'

worth a look though if you're a fan of the genre.

not seen blood the last vampire ,the cast list is impressive
