Suggestion. If you get near the £10k be very selective over the matches that you pick. Especially teams that play 4-5-1 formations.

Haven't got the exact numbers but I believe that there were exactly 200 hat tricks scored in the 16 seasons to 08/09, but teams that played 4-5-1 were about 15% more likely to have a hat trick scorer that 4-4-2 or other formations.

ps 200 is a very small number to assess really.

Logically, that would make sense, having only 1 'striker / dedicated scorer' as opposed to two. Definitely well worth remembering, H... ;)

Not being cynical, but this type of thread haapens all of the time on Betfair and nearly always fails. One guy laid 80 outsiders in a row and when a 50/1 shot won all gains were wiped out in one go. Theres also a hilarious thread about a guy who laid £5,000 (allegedly) on a Man United Champions League game having less than 5 goals and ended up beating Roma 7-1.

Of course it nearly always fails! But its a £10 loss for a bit of fun over a long term... its not a "let's get rich quick" or "how to beat the odds" thread. Its just a "lets see how far we can go, for a bit of fun".

Anyone seeing it as anything else should be shot! :)

I suppose if it fails 899 times out of 900 then it's still a good bet. Good shout on the formations H, it sounds obvious, but hands up, I completely overlooked that. I think my other half is at work, but I'm not so sure, if only there was a handy utility that could track her wherabouts.
Ultimately as should be clear by now, it's just a bit of fun and a sure fire fool proof way to make £10k, no quibbles, no baloney, no Rooney.
Luke, it's easy money lump on, a HRK should be starting with £1000 and by 255ish matches you'll be a millionaire. Stick to teams playing a 10-0-0 formation. Or even better teams with eleven goalkeepers each.

I see it as £10's worth of entertainment over several days/weeks. Well worth it. Hope you win.
