Reducing the word list would be especially silly given that no-one forces players to play the words to which they have taken a dislike.

And the players who do decide to besmirch the scoreboards with stupid long words are very few and far between.

Cutting down the word list would also irritate players who have migrated from Scrabulous and need to play the odd VUM or QAT.

Today I had the dubious pleasure of administering a good VUMMING to a passing Word Soup. (Whatever that means.)

Anyone of you boys go by the name of Lionkiller - some pretty decent words recorded on a unit near me with a top scoring "Quintillionths". No really high total game points though so perhaps a word builder rather than a consistent clearer?

On a similar but non WU-related theme, does anyone play under a name like I SAW A FAT MONKEY? A couple of reasonable Cops and Robbers scores in the Holborn area, but more notably each unit had been noticeably drained of any easy cash at all.

Well we know who they are.

LIONKILLER is new to me. If you let me know the pub in question I'll pop by and dump in his cornflakes.

not me guv ( :o ops: )

but QUINTILLIONTHS is a great spot, must be a wordnerd to pick that it should be allowed despite nobody having ever used it in any sensible context. i'm impressed with this LIONKILLER, never come across the name and i'm not far from there, so he must be satisfied in playing the game for fun rather than money.

not me. i wouldn't sully ISTENEM with QU~~~~~~~~~~~ words.
SOETKIN gets those.

a personal joy today was TICKLISHLY (say it) which is not a proper word but it does make you feel good: tongue top, tongue bottom, tongue top. say it now; it will make your day. (linguadental etc. yes, i know.)

COBBLESTONE is also quite pleasant.

and a special blue peter mention for EXCOMMUNICATION. w00t w00t.

i have twelve fingers so base ten is alien to me.

ISOLATIONISM = 300 in this peculiar world.
(or a 10-letter word if you have twelve fingers.)

if we played in base π the game would be about words not interminable numbers.

I've now managed to raise my PB to 2189 after a session at the Plumbers Arms, Victoria. SQUEAMISHLY and QUICKEST were the not particularly impressive best words.

On a side point, QUICKSTEPS was worth 300 points when I played it the other day.
