Monopoly Win

Post by kidgloves »

I was playing the current Monopoly last night and it was in that mode where spoilers didn't appear after 6 or so questions so I was on for a prize. It did cost me 4 attempts as it was doing that thing where when you get within a thousand points or so of the target it does throw spoilers at you - what I'd call 'nearly ready' to pay a prize.
Being a very average quiz player I crapped out 3 times and on the 4th attempt managed to bust through the target with a nice guess on purple hotels.
On 50p play I was expecting the average offer of £1.50-£3 then rejecting but no, the offer was £20
On revealing the properties there was no property over the value of £9. I guess this must have been one massively saved for pot that I found the needle in the haystack for ??
Anyway, very happy with that. The prize, and the ease of getting it reminded me in a weird way of playing DLT's Treble Top years back, when that was gagging and you could get the £20 in around 9-12 questions, and the questions were easy and repetitive.

Nice result, Kid! I've had that before, along with many others I think, whereby the offer has nothing to do with the actual cards that you've 'selected' (read: been given, by the game!) My highest I think wa £11.50 when the cards were all below £4. :)

Unfortunately not, I wanted it to flash, spin and dance on the spot to alert the whole pub to my success but it was just the usual way of things.

A friend of mine had exactly the same thing happen. £20 offer and the £20 card wasn't even there.

is this the only game where the offer makes no sense to the available prizes , thinking DOND , 1v100 etc ? - it often offers £4 or £5 with no cards above £2-50 ( and vice versa ) , however i assume the cards are not the same if you accept the offer rather than refuse  - also on the 50p version it seems to throw the cashpot at £10 , i have had it with ' advance to marylebone station ' and on ' touch screen for bonus property ' just a game or two after it increases to £10 - anyway £20 offer!!! , i think i would never play it again after that

Funnily enough I'd never seen a cashpot at £10 until the other week.... And I thought I'd have a good chance of getting it so played about 5 games but to no avail.

Went in pretty much every day after that and had a couple of games hoping it would give the stations but it never did....

..Stayed at £10 for a good 5 days and someone obviously got it in the end as last time I visited it was at £3.50 :x

I think that the cashpot value has no bearing on the machines playabilty - on gamesnet I think that they are often initially set at £10, to draw you in then spit you out.

i've normally found when i've played if it's at £8.50 or over quite often it will pay it out... but obviously that isn't the case

I'm think it just gives the cashpot whenever it's ready. Doesn't matter what the pot is at. I've had pots of all sizes from £10 down to £1 (!)

MONOPOLY END GAME

I have had the end game now about fifteen times. Now whenever I chose not to deal and pick one of the three cards.

I ALWAYS GET THE LOWEST AMOUNT THIS IS BEGINNING TO ANNOY ME.

IS THIS THE SAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE?

Surely you never thought this was an honest game? Totally controlled, this is an AWP with knobs on. Easy to fool the punters maybe, but anybody who can play will tell you this pile of dross is about as far away from SWP as it is possible to be.
Tried the £1 version? When it so decides you can only 'win' 50p!!! Whoever designed this abomination clearly had no regard for fair play.
Get good enough and this 'game' can make you puke.

bloody addictive game generally! - dont think i have been so stuck on a game for years - very playable features on there , and frustrating game play that makes me carry on and on! - there is enough variety in the playability to make it interesting i suppose - my record is £13 for 50p : £10 cashpot combined with £3 end game prize , which i suspect i may never beat - i think there are many record categories here ; most points on free parking , electric and water etc - anyway i will carry on for the £20 , i think it is more winnable than lots out there :)
