The best games have always been created so as to make the lower prizes (£1 to £4) reasonably accessible to interested punters - winning anything of that size keeps them interested and encourages longer term play - while still making the bigger prizes available to those with the skill, dedication and courage to go for them. Think of Deal or No Deal or Millionaire in all its variants (apart from the 2006 monstrosity). They do admittedly have something of a head start in terms of a known TV 'brand' that everyone is familiar with but their longevity proves how a balance between satisfying both sets of players can be achieved - Deal or No Deal has had 4 years on all cabinets while Millionaire has had close to 10 if my memory serves.

On a slightly related note, maybe it's just me getting crankier in my old age but is anyone else finding it more annoying to deal with the classic 'onlooking punter' comments at the moment? The likes of:

- did you write this game?
- you must have a system
- I can't even read the question in time

I do still manage to laugh along with them but the temptation to ask them whether if they did something 3 or 4 times a week for 20 ****ing years they wouldn't expect to get just slightly better at it is getting closer. Like I said though, I suspect it's just Grumpy Old Man status approaching...

I am not a pro, and only play for fun, but I do like to win occasionally. So from my point of view any game that is impossible for me to win on I will avoid............ Etc.

Just my thoughts.
You are obviously looking for ideas, good luck.
