i have contacts now but dont wear them coz it ruins my pool , im nearly possitive my eyes went when the 1st winstopper was out .. i got the cheat very early ( which was nice ) and i was literally doing 17 hour days up and down serves from 9 - 12 then pubs till close was making very good money as im sure so were a lot of you .. after a month + i realised my eyes were going and despite the nice money at the time i would rather have my eyes.

i couldnt sleep at the time either coz everytime i closed my squinted
eyes i heard good one good one good one.

im telling you Noel Edmonds has the power to not only empty your pockets these days but has the power to suck your eyes out literally, im sure its that pricks fault im going blind.

Thought i'd dig this one up again. After more thumping headaches i had to go and get them looked at last week. Got -0.5 vision in both left and right eyes, and an astigmatism in my right eye which is the main culprit of the short sightedness. I've plumped for some monthly contacts which are petty decent value for £14 a month. Plus a pair of back up specs as you can only wear them 6 days a week 12 hours a day max. Extra £180 odd a year, but a decent investment for no headaches and good sight again. 8)

There's no health warnings on machines, wonder if there's a law suit there! :o

My eyesight was perfect, then I started wanking...ha ha. Na like Mcstreak said shoot em ups flashback roll with it thats what boned my eyesight.. It's something to do with crossing your eyes slightly whilst looking at a bright light covered by a rapidly moving array of colours, now I say it im suprised none of us lot has gained epilepsy..

Had to go to the Docs last week and he had a look at my eyes with his light and immediately suggested I went to the opticians as I had something 'seriously' wrong at the back of my right eye, yet he wouldn't go into detail.

Better go to Specsavers....so I did.

Although the Optometrist couldn't see what the Doc was on about he did find a left eye with -1.75 and a right eye with -4.25 along with an astigmatism. I always knew my right eye was weak but I got by without specs.

Alas, I picked up my glasses today and although my vision is clearer my eyes hurt like hell, everything seems further away than it is, they're loose, but most of all they are a pain in the arse, a nuisance in fact but hey I've gotta wear them I suppose. 8)

Your headache will disipate in time. It is your brain refocusing to what your eyes are transmitting to it.
The optician should have sat you down and fitted your specs to your facial features. If unhappy, go back. If your specs fall off they will get damaged and cost you.

Yeah it's worth doing. I mean i got by without going to start with, but now when i take my lenses out my eyesight is just miles worse, as the correction the lenses give compared with normal sight is just so different. Best £13 a month i've invested in for yonks.....some things just don't have a price. Good eyesight is one of them, and if i have to pay £150 a year to see things clearly then so be it! :) 8)

Yeah I'm in the same boat as others here - I'm 29 and when I left school at 18 I had 20/20 vision and could pick out writing from very far away.

Then at the age of 19 I found fruit machine playing full time and my eyes were shot to pieces by the time I was 23 or so. It was all the jpm skill that did it for me I think - I close my left eye and use my right eye with skill and my right eye is now very bad, tho my left eye is still very good! I only realised one day when I took a photo of someone and then wondered why I couldn't see!

As others have said, I also got a lot of headaches but now I've got the right prescription glasses (cba with contacts) I'm all good - tho I don't usually wear them in on top pubs for obv reasons, usually just for driving/tv etc...

I'm serious when I say that I wonder if we could claim against the manufacturers here?? If this many of us are having problems (my mate who doesn't post on here also does) then surely they are the root cause of our issues??

Hmmm doubt it mate! It's like people saying don't stare directly at the sun i guess. No-one asks us to stare at lights all day, but we do anyway!
