Lost phone..
Lost phone..
Lost my mobile the other night on a works party.
Think its now on ebay , seller is a only a couple of miles from me and has it on a 3 day auction..
Auction reads "Nokia n95 8gb, blocked, no charger, no box, small chip on top".
I blocked it when I realised it was lost, mine did have a small chip, and obviously if someone has found it it will have no charger or box - Got to be mine!!
At the moment im bidding hoping to get it back cheap (hopefully no-one else will bid on a useless imei blocked phone - I can have it unbocked if I tell o2 ive found it). What would you do? Should I email the seller? Dont know if it would do a lot of good as they've only found it not stolen it?
Cheers chaps, Oh and Merry Christmas!!
Mike.

Merry Christmas Mike.
It's a bit of a funny one, as to whether your talking letter of the law or best way to handle it. Isn't there a charge "theft by finding"? Might want to threaten him with that if the price escalates, as you will also know his address. If you can get it back cheap then great, an amusing story into the bargain.

Hehe, it is a good one!
Never thought id be bidding for my own phone on ebay! I dont mind paying a 50 or 60 quid to get it back, it the guy had of rang me I would have given him a few quid anyway. Hopefully it wont go to high as its only really for "spares" to anyone else as its blocked on all networks :-) Definately better than paying 300ish to buy another one!
Did think about emailing him, but thought he might take it the wrong way and end the auction then id have no chance.
Will post and let you know how it goes, it ends tommorow.

Maybe you have two options as to getting it back via ebay:
1, Go for the highest bid and after winning, email him/her asking where to send the cheque . . . . then you've got the address.
2, If he'll not settle for the cheque, state you don't have Paypal and say you'll bring cash . . . . the address is yours then.
When you go round, you could then tell him he ain't getting e penny as it's your phone anyway (just make sure you've got the phone in your hands first!).
Let us know how you get on.
