Am I right in thinking you have ex-members of both Belle and Sebastian and Bis involved in or attending your quiz? Or are they one and the same thing and I am even more out of touch with popular beat combos than I thought...?

just to clear a few things up :D the guy formerly of bis and datapanik( he thanks you for the kind words roberto) works with me and is hosting the quiz this time whilst stuart and beans STILL OF belle and sebastian regularly take part. Having said that the guy with the big sideys from del amitri won last time whilst franz ferdinand were having their dinner downstairs! one bomb and indie glasgow would have been wiped off the map!
gandolfi incidentally is quite the opposite from a stereotypical student/indie pub in glasgow but the quiz seems to pack em in.

It sounds more and more tempting. Tell me that someone who once appeared on a Blue Nile record sets the Arts and Literature questions and I'm THERE...

To think that he thought that 'nothing ever happens' - what a fool he was, eh!

Thanks for being proxy, foxy, for my brown-nosing. :D

hi all, the last foxy quiz of the year is this monday the 15th. i'm calling it the gandolfi megaquiz but i'm not sure the hyberbole will bear out the reality.
anyway hopefully the cardinal will be in attendance and it would be nice to see some of you others lurking out there.
last times winner will definitely not be winning it this time!

Ah yes... remind us who the last winner of Foxy's pub quiz was? :D

A word of warning to anyone attending this quiz... the last two times I've been, the only memories I've had have been coming second last, getting cheated at some "play your cards right" thing, then waking up in my bed with a very sore head the next morning. I think they must put something in the beer (apart from alcohol).

Dr Paul runs his own website now. What was wrong with his quizzes?

I've only been to a couple, but the impression that I got was that you did the quiz and had the chance to win 4 drinks or something crap like that, then they held an illegal lottery where the winner had a 1 in 3 chance of winning the jackpot.

Well your implication that this type of lottery is illegal is very interesting, because a hell of a lot of London pub quizzes do exactly the same. Mind you, the law regarding this may be different in Scotland.

Heh, I'm not 100% sure about the illegal bit. The last time I was at one of his quizzes was about 5-6 years ago. I know regulations on gambling were somewhat stricter then.

It always struck me as somewhat odd that the main prize in his "quiz" centred around a 1 in 3 chance of for a completely random team rather than a test of general knowledge.

Hi All, been a bit quiet on the machines of late (save a nice £40.40 from jiggybank last week - no I didn't gamble it thank you) but the foxy quiz returns for a new year setting a standard in quizzery that Dr.Paul can only dream of (albeit in Greece last I heard).
So please make your way to Bar Gandolfi on Monday 19th January if you would like some serious quiz action and the opportunity to see the Cardinal drunk once again!
