£50 poker game`
I think the cheat knackered this game completely. When it 1st came out you got a good play on it and I had variuos wins ranging from £1 upto £5 and once got a tenner. However now it's severely rigged.
As soon as you come up against player 3 for cash it goes into the following mode.
If the Computers hand will beat yours it'll raise at the 1st chance.
If it will lose it'll call where possible until it has to bet then it'll fold.
So the only chance you have of beating it is if you have a run of winning hands and/or you fold on a knowing losing hand when your the small blind.

It's the same with any blackjack game on a terminal. I also accept that you obviously cannot win every hand, but the manner in which it chooses to make you lose in is shocking. Rather than throw you in shite, they throw you in good hands so you bet, but they make ridiculous calls with ridiculous cards and you lose, either immediately on the flop, or on the river; rarely the turn.David Healy wrote:You've obviously played this before - 2 7 off suit is correct, with two 2's in the flop.civ77 wrote:I'll guess at it having 2 7 off suit, and I'll wager there were 2s and 7s in the flop.
I accept that the game has to protect itself, but to do so in this fashion can only put people off playing and makes a mockery of the "true skill" implication.
It's fixed and i find myself struggling to even get to round 3 these days, never mind the dizzy heights of round 5 (and even 6) like the good old days!
Anyone won the £50 out of this or hit a Royal Flush?

The computer once folded KK preflop against me having invested 100 of his 150 stack in the big blind - I had a rag hand and knew I would hit two pair, computer obviously did too.
Makes a mockery of the true skill, otherwise theoretically you could win £50 per play with a camera phone. I don't have any concrete evidence but I 'think' it cheats high up on the skillstop when you see a sequence of cards where you are guaranteed to beat the computer.

Just to confirm is there a 'new' version off this now. I'd swear blind that I saw (sounds contradictive, that!
) a version the other day that did NOT have 'True Skill' written anywhere on it. Either on the game select screen, the menu screen of the game on in-game...?

"And do you ever contradict yourself, Minister?" "Well, yes and no..."
Just for all to knwo, this game is number one cash box game on the terminals. It has been since it was launched. I can't comment on the cards and if they stay true to what is shown but the idea that it cheats by folding in not right as it is just doing what a player would do, if you knew you woulr lose then you would fold, so as its the top game eaner is it not a reflection on the players, that is they are stupid as how can they beat acomputer who does need to take any photo. All players of this game ned their heads examined, says a lot for the players.
Whilst humerous it is a good thing that players will risk thei money and then leave it for the better informed. Luck is not needed, just thought.

in my favourite local i don't play properly, it is just not worth it [nod to QM]. if there is nobody interesting at the bar or darts board i will dither on the itwasbox, but arse about on games which might shed some light on grey areas.
my game of choice for deliberate timewasting is blackjack. i find it interesting to play best strategy (it is not a hard game to understand) but still lose out to the computer player according to SWP %age. it seems to me a very clever ruse. the game is much, much simpler than poker but to drag a true %age down to an SWP %age is interesting to watch.
i'd never touch this if i was on the make but it is curiously alluring in a "home pub"; probably about £100 down on that game in this venue but it gives an insight into machinations and the beer is superb.

nobody ever wins on those things.
Managed to give this an quick play last night, didn't feel it warranted a new thread
After a couple of goes i was managing to get upto level 4/5 most times.
At that point the game either folds or raises you, which sort of makes a mockery of the true skill, will the game ever actually make an error at this stage??
Also at one point i was winning on level 5 with about 80% of chips, and in the end of a hand(blinds were high) it just said game over :S is there a limit to how many blind levels there are on this game?? Pissed off was an understatement, but i spose it was the easiest tenner i'll ever earn.
Also do the different players actually play differently and consistently?? And do they always appear at the same levels?? Basically will you ever see an aggressive player at a high level or are the days of winning more than a fiver long gone??
Regards
