Here's a very quick query, hopefully :-) I recently played AFU £5 jp at a fairground. Yeah they're great places for playing £5 machines, usually with oldies from 2005 era. Anyway, reels 2 and 3 which correspond to hi and lo are the wrong way round on this machine. Because I know which way round they are on 99% of machines, I go automatic pilot and fall foul of it on AFU. That's both for real and on the emulator :-D Is there any background/history on this machine as to why they were remapped? I've not come across another Barcrest as such, or from any fruitie manufacturer even.

Knowing Barcrest it was probably a mistake which nobody seemed to notice during testing.

Haha, that reminds me of a few of the Disney films where they get the eye colour wrong on a particular character. E.g. someone's eyes who were green in the Lion King 1, then changed to blue in the 2nd film. Can't remember who it was but that's my analogy :-)

Obv the hilo buttons were 'the opposite' on every one of this machine made.

We used to switch them back to their conventional positions to confuse casual players...we had an inordinate amount of them start on red boost/add again so it worked pretty well

I know of a £5 AFU with the "swapped" buttons, but the buttons are actually the "right" way around. Its fun watching people who are new to the machine!
