The Poker Million is in Town!!
POker on the TV is OVER RATED. They **cut** to the action ala Match of The Day. Football it ain't so bad, but in poker it's pointless. You miss all the micro nuances of the psychological battles between the players. Someone bets ace high unusually big for fold equity and gets called with pocket twos. You go "Ah, what a wanky call, he's been betting on the river like that with two pair or more" whilst not being shown the footage of this guy tilting over the last twenty hands and starting ot bluff out on the river more for example. You get to see the bad beat hand, but no, it's all cut to the quick after three hours of play.
"How will Bob 'The Flush' Bobber play his pocket aces in the big blind? Kevin 'fishtales' Trumper has cowboys under the gun. Jonny 'dead wagon' Aces has Knaves in the pocket in middle position. Dave 'The fevilDish' Ulliot has a Big Slick in late position, he has Alice 'The woman' Smith's AQ dominated, Under the Gun just flat calling with kings......and so it goes on until AQ wins as the flop comes QQQ and everyone tilts and loses all their money to 7 2 off suit.
Poker is damn good fun but too feckin' annoying when the money matters. There is always someone more skillful than you and even if there isn't someone more skillful, there is always someone luckier than you. Just remember that.
