Good luck Pete. I'll stick to my $1 HL Omaha P/L. Have yet to play a tournament live.

day 2 was dissapointingly short for me.
I raised with 8,8
BB shoved and didn't look like he wanted a call.
decided to flip with him to gather chips early.
mis-read
he had QQ and it held up.

ah well, keep grinding the Super50s

The next Grand Prix starts Monday
There are 20 "Day 1s"
10 online and 10 live between 8th and 19th August.
Guaranteed £250k prize pool.

I'm personally not bothering with the online ones and am taking my first shot Saturday 13th in the club.

best part of £80k 1st prize for £50 stake.
great value.

I'm through to Day 2.
back at 2pm on Saturday with a fresh 15k stack and a 40 minute clock.

There's going to be a MASSIVE overlay on this event.
£250,000 guarantee needed 5000 runners (including re-entries)
current estimates are under 3000

That means less than 300 players go back Saturday to compete for the 1st prize which might be closer to £90k than £80k.
everyone going back for day 2 gets paid.
first players out were supposed to be getting €75 but because of the short field it could be double that.
Cost me £212 total to qualify including juice so not exactly at break even yet, but I'm not playing for my money back :D

good luck , and if you see anything and i mean ANYTHING that looks in any way shape or form like live poker events at the dusk to dawn club could be rigged, then you make sure you post it up on here.

Lol @ lugsy.

Nice one Pete, a full report on how you get would be a decent read. Whats the mindset for day 2 knowing you've already made something back? Obviously the winning it is monster spoils, life changing even, do you sit tight and hope the cards are on your side or do you make plays and take a few risks?

Only you know what you'd be happy with. Incidentally, what are you guaranteed for making the final table? That is always my aim and anything extra depending on chip stack is a bonus.

The day 1's were basically deepstack satellites so the strategy was patience, keep track of average and survive.

Day 2 is slightly different.
15,000 chips and 40 minute blinds is a lovely structure so it'll be a case of making a few moves early, see if I can build a bit of a stack. Avoid any massive pots unless I have a big hand and finish Saturday comfortably above average. But then that's easy to say. Depends how kind the cards are. I had to grind my way to qualifying with not much to work with. would be nice to get hit in the face with the deck, but can't rely on it.

Not sure on the final table money.
Personal best win is only £3100 so a solid final table place has the potential to smash that.

Would love to take it down, not just for the money, but for a bit of recognition.

Roll on saturday.

and live poker is definitely rigged.
The amount of sick outdraws I've seen recently confirm it. :D

not to be this time.
Was pretty card dead to ducked and dived as best I could.
Got knocked out early Saturday evening, losing a big race followed by a 3 outer outdraw.
my win paid for all my entries and costs almost exactly.

An 8 way deal was done at the final with prizes between 10k and 30k agreed.
