Ok, i have played two vortex's now which have cost 260 odd for a top when redding from the off. they are both on 86%. I phoned up Australian 8 ball to see what was going on and the lady, being very polite and calm explained how reds are getting the programmes changed. She said that it was to try and conquer the players out there and make it nearly impossible for us to win when the tell tale signs are there.

Ive noticed that when it lands on a mega spin there is like a half second pause, same when you get the top. The machine honestly just keeps going red and red and red every single board when its buzzy but just doesn't go anywhere. kills you on 2s and 11s really low down and avoids feature shots! Just to let you know guys.

Hmm, that's a concern. Although it may be she fed you a bit of 'spin' (no pun intended!) to cover up the fact that they have a dodgy machine. I played a Vortex last night that was still pleasantly the way it used to be. I wonder if they'll seventyfy these? I doubt it...

Not having that, the only reason being its on a company thats not as well established as Gaytec etc!!
Cant see this being the case as SMT and HI-LO silvers and new reds would be shit!!

Probably just a bad one? i've had a few nasty Invincibles, always red but very very very hard to top out on one, and when you did it was £35, over £300 in once from full and going, and what does SMT stand for?

I can think of 2 vortices, supplied by Sceptre and both in train stations that both play similar to the one described by you toothless, and the fact that they are only 125 hoppers means that after you've emptied your pockets in pursuit of something resembling a decent streak you are only going to get 125 back before it banks. Fucking disgusting.

Ive encountered some bad ones as well.

At one point there was 2 in bedford centre, one scepre and one cleakville-leisure. On several occasions I had the cleakville-leisure at 45 degree angles.

In the end I just broke the buttons and gave up with it.

A few weeks later, they replaced it with a £5 oche oche which still remains there today

I mean these ones are terrible. Ive played hundreds of these and have mainly good results. Everyone knows when to do them + their streak profiles. These two i have played are just completely different. Fucking terrible. And yes in answer to the earlier question it was offering blue and red sevens compfortably but just not going anywhere. E.g. offers blue sevs 3 times in the space of a 10 spot, then munches 80- 100 off me, going red every board but just not going anywhere. (It was redding from the off as well). Im sure someone will soon have similar nightmares.

Mate honestly just think u have 2 bad ones. I've had loads of machines that have been shit literally every time even when showing / bang full. I've just left them alone. I've even had 2 COBs in pubs next to each other. 1 shit - one amazing. Just dodgy progs as mentioned.

As for the woman at the company she probably one of those people that even when being polite just chat absolute shit for no reason (and I really don't know why).

Like bar staff that say a shark raving mad JP has just repeated twice or that a machine has just dropped £100 but it's full.

Like anfield said the new machines are fine so....

Also it's definitely the machine as there is different ways to play hi los etc but only 1 way to play a Vortex.... plus there is no safe cash so it's just plain fucked
