Tale of 2 snakes

Not had much chance go slotting over the weekend but had a bash tonight. The following shows how random S & L can be.
2 pubs a few mins apart.
1st S & L notey off so had a few £ in the HOF, it was backing off 1st £ and got a nice cheap MS followed by a £20 for about £40 profit so decided to risk a few in the S & L. 1st board ARB3 on 1 nudge. didn't offer much but the next few boards were both 50%+ reds. The notey then come on so it was about £160 off to start with. End Result - not much blocking, only 1 land on the final snake and I got £70 top followed quickly by hiddens for £7 & £6 then a £3 win for around £50 profit
2nd S & L backing after £3 but 1st few boards where dying on good numbers before £4. serveral boards really took the piss, Super bonus giving super boost to a snake twice, Landing on Safe before £7 and it only being .80p. Then after about £30 it just woke up, £15 & £25 nudge win, A couple of mid range safe cash held it back but this also did £70 top followed quickly by 2 Hiddens for £7 & £9 before a £5 win finished it for another £50 profit.
2 machines, 1 empty & flying, the other full & dead both had the same end result. You could almost be forgiven for thinking they where random :?

Just shows that you can not go off hopper balance alone. Snakez is so frustraighting, sometimes it will give top so easy then others mess you about for an age.

I used to find them pretty reliable to start with, they never, ever seem ready though now, and even when they are, they can be cnuts, I don't stop for one now.

No the empty one usually has been full almost everytime I go. Forgot to add there was a empty half pint glass on top of it.

I am to embarassed to post how much a mate and myself lost on one of these last night.

Needless to say it was an absolute fucking disgrace, NEVER have I seen a red play up like these awful machines. I was expecting it to go on a mad one at some point but it never did. Only one £70 top and numerous flats seperated by to much money back in between. Always 'there' but just kept fucking us over time and time again.

Yes the flat tops are very irritating. Not very often you come out with profit if the 1st top don't go for £70. Had a battle with 1 on friday. Seemed to be progressing nicely, killed me twice on the £35 square going for the top before going up for a flat £35. 3 recycled tops later I again got a £35 top but the next board got super bonus gave skill & I hit Red Crazy knockouts for another JP. then some afters for about £15 profit.
A £70 1st top would have been about £40 profit. :(

Oh go on. Spill the gory yukky beans. Spill 'em! We need the full gossip.

I'm just going for a bowel movement, I'll be leaving soon, but when I come back, I hope to see the gory story in all its gory glory.

Was it.......

We keyed S+L and it was £15 off. Thinking it might be worth a shot we paid £6 for the fisrt board on 50p stake, normal spin. It lit up 6 features red and we got up to £7. Thinking this was good, we ploughed on. £30 later it was going ARB1, surely a good sign and giving good bonus and getting to £15 cash. We got up the ladder to win stopper on the top level after £40 in and had extra life. 3 higher 2.....higher for a 9 (3) to take us down the snake...then dead on the 9.
£100 in and it's intermittently ARB1 and 2 or 3 reds. We have about £20 in safe cashes banked up at the moment. We'd also switched to 50p/MEGA and it was chewing up notes like there was no tomorrow.

£200 in and £40 in safes. Transfer and soon it's £200 and still no top. £240 in buys us a first top. Flat £35 f'ing disgraceful. Of course it's still there and we were tempted to milk, but sure that a £105 was around the corner we ploughed on. All of that back plus another £30 for a top that went £70. So we carried on £50 in for a £70 and still there. Then it takes the piss £120 for the next top for another £70 (where is my 105???!?!?). Followed by a £35 the next board - hurray staggerred 105 and STILL there. All be it mostly six reds. Decided to go for glory and it's £50 in for a flat, another £60 for a flat and all that back for a flat packed £35. Getting seriously vexed and decide to milk after next £70. But first another 1'er in to get a number runner for £25s which went straight in for £70 - can this actually do £105s? Then we milked, but costing loads, boards blocked at triples. Could not believe it. Went back in. 50 in for a £70 and still there. Finally had a sneaky toggle climb from 5 reel blasts up to top feature. Flat £35 then dead. Took mixeds for £5 and some other bits and pieces. Far too much down to even want to post it here. Then we decided it must be there. It must be, it was on 78+6%. So 50 in for a £70 and still there. Absolutely gutted, but carried on regardless. £250 on both cards at the ATM and so 50 in for a £70 and still there. Then it takes the piss £120 for the next top for another £70 (where is my 105???!?!?). Followed by a £35 the next board - hurray staggerred 105 and STILL there. All be it mostly six reds. I gave up reading that halfway down, but rather strangely the opening few lines in that monster paragraph is worryingly close!!

killed me twice on the £35 square going for the top before going up for a flat £35
Sadly, this is now becoming very common on these newer, nastier Reds (am considering changing my avatar, but the history lives on for a little longer, at least!)

It is 'usually' followed by a top within the next board or two, provided of course, the top you nabbed was not the second of another players, if you get what I mean.

Vortex was the transition machine for me, the sort of 'in-between' machine, which had a lot of the good points of the older variety, and introduced a few of the nastier points of the newer ones. The good points on 'V' did outweigh the poorer ones, but since then, Snow's 'swingometer' has drastically swung to the right... :(

I agree with that, but for a while now I have been off reds altogether - just refuse to play them. I used to play Vortex as it had a very nice profile IMO but since it was taken out of my local, Ive just stopped playing Reds. The lack of a board where you can move around just bores me, after all this time. Especialyl on the nastier ones.
