Randomness

Post by Mattb »

Alright all,

Couple of really random reds the past week.

The first one is a 50p/£25 OAR on arcade mode. It wasn't ready as i tried 2 £5 gambles which both lost. I managed to get to only a few quid down taking stuff when it gave a £15 nudge board? Gambled it and lost, but from there on in it was flying. Tops did £50 after about £35 in, with no afters at all. Made a few quid.

The second one is again OAR, this time 50p/£35. Same sort of story, all green board, lost on a fiver on a 2. Tried another and lost straight away, then the third one gave £5 on 12 nudges. Gambled this out, which lost on £15. Redded up straight after this, and the first time i got to £25 on a 6, it went up for a £70, this time a £40 odd profit.

Strange eh. Had numerous reds so this recently.....seemingly green, dead and £5 ready, then suddenly they wake up and start going a bit mad. Not complaining, but it makes reading machine state confusing!

I'd like to add my thought is that no-one is really forcing them but milking them instead, so they appear dead to start with, but streak quickly as there's a nice untapped streak pot.

I've noticed OAR's doing this quite a lot round my way. Both £35 JP's and they rarely seem to be redding but they still cost less than £35 to force the top and i'd say a 50% success at getting the £70.

I and a colleague had a Vortex not gamble past a fiver from £15 in that was looking pretty dead(ish), just about to try and nab a few features for a few quid back and then bang £105 top. Never showed more than 3 red features on each board.

Refer to my comments in the other thread about 'Redding' of late. I'm pretty sure it's not as much a reliable sign as it used to be... :(

this is because the 5-7 block, or any block for that matter is only connected loosely connected to its readyness to streak/show reds. the blocks are only proportionate to the board value of the machine, hence why, for example, after a red has streaked it will sometimes have value for more than the 5-7 block.
another example, the machine is a hair away from being reds but, during the time it has been collecting all its streak monies it has also constantly been banked (poorly of course, otherwise it could not have got the streak value). it will block five to seven for a few boards as it has little board value, and then zing! the warm glow of reds, as if from nowhere.
i can remember i was on an invincible once (earily afternoon in a spoons so refill ahoy) that was blocking 5-7 first board (definate block, 3 higher 2, higher 1, with a life) ,which cost £15, mind, so decided to chance my arm. 9 pounds later still no board when i get a skill bonus. . . strange, the tenner was there and it won to the top. lucky me, i can remember thinking, i've blagged meself a board jp. however it went for £75. i assume that the streak must have surfaced in those interim £9 as the previous board it was most certainly blocking.
having rambled on about all this though i still think that checking to see if a red is blocking is still one of the most solid ways of determining weather or not to play it. :)

On holey moleys, OARs, Piggy banks, lucky devils etc you have to play them on 50play and mega spin (If optional) and risk a score in them to see if they are ready. If they offer 12 nudges and a shitty cash win or just roll 1s in for 1 nudges then its dead. Usually you will be able to make a few quid back off toggles etc if it is dead. However, if you pay them on normal stake then they will remain green features until they are completely reading. Green features on these doesn't mean dead, the features correspond to your cash win, the readiness of the machine + if boxes are there. I.e, red features will only appear if these things happen.

If it naturally goes red then you will usually get a top that board or the board after.
