Dear oh dear..............

After a promising start to the year, I have had whats known as a cruel amount of bad luck.

First came a pulsation, was only £3 off and was £30 in for all red(consistently) and regular number runners etc. £42 in for £10 top. Then still just about half reds and gambles to £6+.

To cut a long story short, another £100 in and no top. £10 more in for a total of £160 in for a £75 and then a few half decent features. For about £90 back. Not the end of the world but BAD enough. £80 down.

Then on to Jackpot Gems or what ever its called. £15 off. First few boards not that great, but some good features offered. Decide to press on. BIG MISTAKE.

£30 in for number runner, so I am thinking ok not to bad. £80 in for top which goes for £25, next board red top feature offered so I carry on and get bitched. Another £50 goes in (total £130) for next top, once again flat £25 and then red dead mode. Thinking what the f**k do I do know? I am so amazed at how bad this has played I just force it again. £60 (total now £190)in for £50 top then next board I toggle it to £25 from bonus on gamble. So thats the £75 streak but I am still over a ton down. Play it a few more boards to drain the value and leave it with about £85.

During this play, I might add I have never seen so many crap no.s on a red. Between stages where no wins were collected for over £50. I was getting so many 6's and 8's it was unheard off. At one point when I was about a ton in, if I would have come on it at that point to play for a board to check the level I would have left it straight away!! It was that bad.

I had this before on a cobra once, where it was absolutely flying but kept giving crap no.s for an absolute age.

I like my reds but after these two and one other similar stitch up I am beginning to change my mind.

Sympathy required please......................Not 'you don't know your reds' PLEASE!!!

Sorry to hear that PMK! :x

Unfortunately everyone will have had a similar horror story on a red. People who say they haven't i don't believe! :P

Luckily i haven't had any awful stories like that for a while, but i remember being £80 odd down on a take two a while back that was from a similar position to yourself.

I don't really like reds that don't have fruit steps as much as the others, seem a lot harsher really. In fact i've never forved a JP gems as it never seems worth it. Luckily ive got the 50p On A Roll clone here which is a good hit, but i think i'm probably overdue a bad run like you had!

reds can be such a stitch up its unbelievable. i was 180 in a LAB for a 100 back. had so many bad experiences on these but in contrast i have made my crust on these many times in the past.

Day makers or day breakers

Aye they can be cruel as fuck sometimes.

I was £75 into a Rocket Money last week when all of a sudden i got all red features for a cool £105 on the 1 streak

However i was done over on a KR a few weeks previous for £160 between me and my cousin!! This one in particular was a real twat and one i will definately avoid in the future.

I definately think that the tops in the newer reds are a lot tighter than the older ones like X-Rated and JG etc.

Bad luck. I too like reds, but just too much Hi/Lo'ing involved.. I can see why it can badly go wrong.

Well I maybe had 3 or 4 a year that would rip the piss but to get 3 in as many days was just a bit to much to deal with!!

Maybe, I will be that little bit more cautious next time.

ive just read the first few paragraphs and already i feel for you.

Reds are not " safe " machines if you know what i mean. They are highly risky machines with a huge percentage cycle.

Dont play em.I know a few people on here do play em ( one in perticular NEVER appears to lose on any,no names mentioned)

Leave em alone mate.your thank me for this in the long run.

If anyone comes back and tell me that reds are the most profitable machines out there then they may as well just call it a day straight away.

If you are counting on Reds to make money you gonna have a hell of a lot of days winning sweet fuck all and even a loss.

I have a Red machine at home and it stuggles to meet its percentage.

Barcrests on the other hand................................

Anyone with mfme 9.4 just check the book keeping !

harry you may or may not have been on about me, if so your wrong

I have stated in the past i have been done over a few times
They can 'do' you occasionally but are the best for profit
And before anyone spouts off about extremes being the king
They are great if you live somewhere that they dont get 'done' regularly

Try playing them here where they never start over £1.20

Also i realise that if they are full and offering and you still get done that is harsh
Accept it and move on
Some people force them 'cos they offered me super boost from bonus'
Forcing these just cos they seem to be playing well is asking for trouble
Unless you know the history of whats going in and out each day you will get stung
Barcrests- dont make me laugh
Unless you have umpteen TAW's then your wrong
Everyone knows how to play crests and they take an age to fill back up
Reds dont offer boards for an age when dead
On a crest people get on collect £3 and thats it

Reds are becoming harsher i believe, but are still making me a nice profit weekly
Sorry about the long post :P

I have to agree with Mr Red on this one. Red's definately are the best money makers. Yes you can lose sometimes but as long as you know when not to push you can limit the losses. Thats what gambling is all about, if you can't afford to have a loss once in a while then you have got to ask yourself should I be playing?

Plus the fact that they are everywhere, I can count on one hand the amount of decent crests on my run at the moment compaired to the amount of decent red's I have there is no contest. Bellshite are poor and Global have the odd decent one so there is not a lot else to play.
