I used to have one in a Gala Bingo.

As far as I recall there's an easily readable chip and a slightly more naughty. The Gala FNC was the naughtier chip. It could be AR and still cost a ton to go. Mind you, I rarely lost on it as it was a decent %

On 70% fookin' 'eck, no chance boys, no chance, try a quid grab a quick toggle for a fiver and fook off. Once a year it'll be redding. Or lose a quid and fook off, if there's a 1 there, bung in 50p.

The trouble with these is that they cost so much to force reds on £35. It can be £7 happy and £50 later still no ARB1. If it plays ball you get your £70 to be £5 down and then it's still £7 off y'know, so check the rudders.

So True. Perfect example -

I had 2 pubs next door to each other, right by the train station and next to the University so they where student pubs.
The firkin had FNC in and my first 3 visits resulted in all £100+ into it even though always full & once was red from the off. 2 ended in £70's then dead the other was a £35/£85/£25 stop n step
About a month later the roebuck had a FNC in. first couple of forces where £50ish in for £70 tops or back to back £35's.
Then had a run of finding it red and getting the £70 for cheap.
6 weeks later and it had gone but the firkin still kept there's.
Only once ever won on the firkin FNC, only once was it dead in the roebuck yet they where 20 seconds apart.
Also never got the £85 off the roebuck one.

Trying not to be too much of a pedant, but the max top was £85 on these if memory serves me correctly? ]

Oh yeah, fair shout :o ops:

Though the point that they will hold their value reasonably decently still should hold true...
