Yeh, but surely you are playing to make money, not because there is a fruit machine within 30 miles irrespective of profit/loss?

I dont understand why people bother going to bedford.

I drink around bedford town + outskirts just about /every night/!!

In that particular pub, I have 2 pints minimum and sometimes nip in for a pint even when I know it aint ready and dont even put a pound in it, just for PR!

cheers, Mark

Used to go to Bedford a lot. Arcade had Italian Job which had money in it. Bookie in Sandy had Ready To Rock and Ultimo always ready. Also Ready To Rock in Stevenage Novotel.

Yeh, couldnt be arsed with TIJs and Ultimos. Better things to do at the time. Was doing the R2R's though. There was another one in Hitchin at the same time ;-)

You wouldnt find a coin in them now though, I'd be emptying them to offset the losses I have on the reds lol

Few playables?

/A/ Cluedo - You can find these /everywhere/. Wouldnt be so playable if my m8 had just skilled it out back to back. Quickest 110 for a set of lines you'll ever do.

Jack Potters - Take em as u find em, especially in the Tree. Wait till you get 120 in and they tell you they are closing early cos its dead (and they want to jump on your box).

Vortex - 13quid profit wasnt it? You should have lost 40 quid in it, but got lucky. I have no idea how that was ready apart from it having a full reset in the 24 hour gap. I had left about 20 quid in a 250 hopper the previous night in a pub that only takes money at weekends!!!!

There was another two vortexs, but the good one has gone. There is still another one in Que Pasa- like to see you win out of that one. The manager watches it like a hawk and keys it, then ... guess what... plays it for a mega streak [yawn].

Either way - I dont see these results as worth travelling for. You must be happy making a very small sum of money a day, which more than likely means you are on the dol or you live with your parents.

Bit of a harsh reply there me thinks!!

If your mate had skilled the cluedo up back to back(which is rare) then I am sure MatB is a good enough player to realise that its dead perhaps???

So he made a few quid on a vortex that you thought you had left dead? Maybe someone did brains in it the next day and left it ready again? Maybe you didn't leave it as dead as you thought?

Lets face it we all get told areas are covered and everything is kept on top of, but in pubs unless you have at least 1 individual player sitting in each pub from open till close there will always be occasions when things ARE ready, even Cluedo's and Vortex's which are nice and easy.

I also remember going to Bedford Showboats when a certain Thomas Estate machine had a nice easy empty, nobody was ever on top of that then either. I guess maybe you were on bigger and better things eh?

Not rare for him to double skill one.

Believe me, that Vortex was left dead. Vortex's arent exactly difficult to read.

I could understand the cluedo taking 20/30 quid, but the vortex taking 60+ ? Not really. It doesnt even take that over the weekend.

Ive never really bothered with arcade emptiers. I hate the places. I didnt even really bother with Golden Games. I'm not sure which thing you are referring too... Possibly the Roulette thingies... dunno. So I cannot comment on what I was doing at the time.

Besides - I am talking about now, not back then. I drink in bedford /every/ night now near enough. I play around reds that arent ready, just to keep them dead and myself amused.

If I play some boxes in the evening, as long as I go home evens I dont care. I dont need to play them for money now I work.

Also, when I was playing full-time, I hardly ever bothered with Bedford, its crap. It doesnt have enough pubs, it usually has shit machines and they dont take fuck all money. So I'd goto Leicester/Luton/Northampton/Stevenage etc. But now I'm just going out for a beer or 2, I'm not going to bother going all the way to Luton every night etc.

As for Matt being good enough to walk away when its dead... Most confident players will play a Cluedo from any point. If you were looking to only play alive ones, you'd lose a hell of a lot of 5/10 quids before you found a ready one. If you think thats bollocks, then the area you play in is MASSIVE.

My previous reply a Bit Harsh? ... Maybe... But...

I just really dont get it TBH. Theres still good money to be made if you goto the right places, so why people goto burnt towns for pennies I just dont understand. By going there for nothing, I can only assume people are doing it deliberatly to piss me off!
