If you have the old mechs from those machines, replace with the same as there is a difference between those validators, and some JCMs will not run in a cabinet where a cc talk has been used.Let me know If you need more info I have a manual with more info & settings.

Only difference in the validator itself is the eprom inside it,
you need a different eprom for cctalk as they are not switchable from one to the other
and I assume the loom would be different and does the game/tech support cctalk?

Trouble is in this industry nothing is secure, manufactures continue to build machines with their many hardware, software problems leaving the operator in the front line for the flack when the scams and emptiers are exposed.Don't think any manufacturer to date has been held accountable for the huge losses sustained by operators because of manufacturing errors due to their totally inadequate security/testing procedures.
This industry must have the lowest security for cash handling equipment.

Indeed.
To be honest it still amazes me, probably more than ever these days, that anyone in their right mind would stick a big wooden box with a glass front in a pub of all places, and then make it well known that it is potentially full of lots of money...
Makes you think!

Seems funny when you think of it like that!
It's even funnier when you see some m/c's that are fully encased in a metal cabinet with roller shutters that open when the machine is on...
Funny thing is the only place you ever see them is in members only clubs where there is almost no chance of them getting broken into anyway!!!

That's true actually...
I guess it's because a lot of clubs actually own their machines - plus the higher floats in a clubber.

Clubs have always been paranoid about the money in their machines, most of them rely on the machines takings to help keep them afloat,so you can understand why they take all security measures to protect the cash.
Unlike the floats on AWP machines today that are rapidly catching up to club level machines, sec 16 machines had just as much if not more than some club machines, but no security!
The new arriving payouts will again increase hopper levels, and with them no doubt the usual scams and emptiers costing the industry.
