Legal Tender Problems

ok so finally got it.

first problem is the number reel, it keeps screwing up and sticking, we're talking 2/3 times it will fail.

Also,
Coins all goto the cash box, even when in refil mode the counter will decrease but the coins still goto the cashbox. The hopper defo works as ive filled it up manually and its paid out.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Number reel is probably down to something loose, or something that need minor adjustment on the reel.
Often the lamp mask plastic, or the reel tab hitting the led on the sensor board.

Second is a routing problem; check the little plug with wires in the side of the coin mech, it may not be pushed right in.

This must be a common fault on these type of reds, i've had a few that f*ck up on the number reel, and i've still got a Pulsation that does it now.

there isnt anything I can do to the number reel i think, its just one of those things.

As for the mech, theres a large white plug at the front and 2 blocks with wires going through not connected to anything, one labelled mars and the other coin cons.

the white plug was in but the other two plugs (seemingly independant) were not connected to anything.

I also fixed the broken transfer button and cleaned it up, almost to the stage of being proud of it!

Yep they are both routing plugs for different types of mech depending on what is fitted.
One of them should be plugged into the mech.

what goes where?

The big white one plugs into the hopper fine, and the white thing on the end plugged in there 2. everything else is just floating around

The black plugs are coin routing, and the small white plugs are route inhibit connections.
Looking at your picture, your machine is using a Mars cashflow mech.
The large white plug connects at the back of the mech as you know,Your picture of the coin mech shows the plug in points in the side of the mech where the routing plug and route inhibit plug fit.
The route inhibit plug(white)you need to find in the two plugs spare is the one with a nine pin connection, you will find the nine corresponding pins in that hole in the side of the mech and fit the plug with the black wire end at the bottom.
The other plug is for a 22 pin connection routing plug(black),again you will have to check the two plugs you have there and fit the correct plug to the corresponding pins, this plug can only be fitted one way as it is key guided and again in the side of the coin mech next to the inhibit plug.
The black routing plug is to control which path all the coins take after going through the coin mech.
The route inhibit plug to the coin mech is controlled by the machines software so for example, when the hopper is full the machine will switch the flow of pound coins from the hopper to the cash box and back again when needed.
As both plugs are out of the coin mech no correct routing of the coins is taking place and the cause of the coins going into the cash box.

Machine doc has summed up the coin mech issue so that should be an easy fic for you now.

With regards the reel, i would go for something coming into contact with the sensor or maybe a loose connection.

However I looked at one for a mate once and the problem was the actual reel housing had become damaged at the centre and was causing it to slip when spinning. straight replace.

ok current setup:

The big white one and the small white one that actually fits (one doesnt) are both plugged in, thats how I received the machine but I cannot see anywhere to put the black plugs in where they actually fit.

black not needed on that type of mech

Only one is required to be connected to the mech. I would suggest it be the white one. However if you're not sure just try them both seperately and you should be able to sort it no problem!

Indeed, on a cf9524 the routing is programmed onto an IBUTTON.

VERY good mechs.

Photos always help clarify a query like this one.
