Hi, swithching from cash payout to free play?

Post by charshaun »

Hi, have read all the posts and can't find one that answers my question. We've just bought a barcrest big brother, and cant afford 2 fill the hopper yet. Is there a way we can change it to free play until we get the funds 2 play for real? Also, my hubby just claimed a payout when there were not enough funds. An alarm is now sounding and it says 'Call Manager'. Is there a reset button (we can't find 1)? Thanks, Char

Resetting the machine should clear it. If not, put the machine in refil mode then insert coins to tthe value of the unpaid claim then let it pay out. The machine will be fine put back into play. There is no way 'free play' the machine works on a cash in cash out basis like any other AWP so therfore must be played to win.

Need further help, PM me

Some machines can be put onto free play, so that for instance they give credits when the doors are open. Payout is of course inhibited in this mode.

Don't think this particular machine can be put into freeplay however, it's a bit of a thing with Barcrest machines.
Feel free to correct me if anyone knows different.

aaamusements is right some machines can be put into free play.
If it's Barcreset MPU4,just open the door and after the machine initializes press the test button just once to get 20 free plays with no physical payouts.
If it's a Barcrest MPU5,then switch bank 1,dil switch 1(switch bank 1 is located at top right hand corner of the MPU) has been used for what they call exhibition mode.First open the top door and switch dil switch 1 to the ON position then reset the machine, when the machine has initialized press the start button and you will get 50 credits to play, but again there will be no physical payouts. Also in this mode If at any time the machine is not played for 30 seconds it will zero the credits.
To go back to normal play mode simply switch bank1 dil switch1 to the OFF position again.

Of course, you are right! You can play a machine in this way. This is the way I test my machines so I suppose this is called Free Play. It would mean that you would have to leave the service door open and there would be no payouts although it the display would show a countdown on pressing 'collect'
