Impulse Flashback asking for time & date

Post by fallwood »

Hi all, my Impulse Flashback has started asking for the time and date when switched on. All other memory info appears to be still there (hopper level, volume etc), and the machine seems to be playing ok.

A friend said he seems to remember that some impulse machines had 2 batteries , is this true and where do i find them.

I've not really had to do any repairs on the machine whilst I've owned it (2yrs now) so I'm not quite sure where everything is.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, any idea what the batteries look like, is the main board the one with the test button on it.

Edit: I just took out what I think is the main board (has 2 banks of dip switches to the bottom left, a row of oblong chips along the bottom and the test button at the top center), right next to the dip switches is a small green barrel shaped thingy, I think this is one of the batterys as it has a red + sticker on one end. Anyone know where the other could be or what it looks like.

Thanks.

Ok then, I changed the battery this morning and the machine has retained all its settings (volume, book-keeping, hopper etc), it didnt ask for the time or date or give any message about 'ram clear', I've looked through all the menus that I know of and cant find anything to set the time/date.

Would this suggest that there is another battery somewhere or was I just lucky enough to be so lighting quick at changing the battery  that the ram chip didnt discharge.
