Daylight Robbery Problems........

Hi, just bought my first bandit for the house and am having a few small problems. The machine works fine on free (or fun) mode, ie all of the reels spin and lights work. However when it is switched onto cash mode it doesn't recognize that there is money inside the hopper. I worked this out after trying to do a hopper dump and the display said that it was empty but i had just stuck £125 into it, but as im new to this i could be wrong. When its fired up the machine displays "ALM 48" for a few seconds while beeping, then goes on to say that there is an outstanding pay out due for £4.00 which it cant pay (even though its full of cash) I'd really like to get this machine going, but after a morning of google-ing everything to do with bell fruit and daylight robbery I am still no further forward. I cant find an instruction manual, and don't really know where to start looking for spares so any advice on sorting this fault would be great. Confused

Yeah, when the front panel is open the diagram shows that button as the one next to the hopper. When that is pressed the machine makes an electronic noise and displays reset floats £125, and the hopper makes no noise. after doing this i pressed the start button through the menu screen to the £1 coin level and it displays 1 POUND - £0.00. Its like the hopper doesn't have any power, even though the switch next to it does, and is not recognising that the £1 coins have been put in. I dont know whether the hopper should make some noise on firing up? The switch comes off the same block for power as the hopper (a sort of sliding tray with a solid connector clip at the back which connects as the tray is pushed in) so there should be power going to it. Would a model numberhelp, can you still buy spares for a machine this old? It is in really good condition apart from this problem, help!!

Have you tried putting pound coins in when its says £1 - 125.00 ??

If not have u just simply tried putting a refil key in, turning it and then putting pound coins in?

I mean through the actual coin slot.

Yeah, just tried all that and no joy. when the refill key is turned (and the display says refill) the coin slot light goes off and the coins go straight to the coin out tray. the same happens when i do it with1 pound £125 screen on. Its like it just doesnt want to recognise that there is money in it. Any other ideas at all, or is it gubbed?

Thanks for the reply.

Where did you buy the machine from? (ebay). Is the hopper disconnected.

Yeah, it was ebay. seemed like a bargin at the time. The hopper is connected via a white clip at the back. Its the same clip which powers the switch next to the hopper so I am assuming that the clipis ok. The hopper on the other hand does nothing.

If you sell a machine on ebay then the hopper has to be diconnected unless your a registered supplier. So Its probably not connected.

Follow the wires from the white connector back to the hopper, as there is a another plug at the other end of that wire that connects to a board on the hopper. It could be that wiring has been unplugged at the hopper end to conform with ebay rules.Looking at your picture there is a loose plug to the left of the hopper, the spare wires tied up in the front are for a second hopper (not used).
Pull out drawer to examine underside of hopper for connector board. If all looks connected ok ie no open connector pins that look like should have plug on them,Then could be number of faults including fuse/ hopper/wiring to MPU fault.
