Hi all, newbie in the house...

I have a barcrest machine (mpu5) , Red hot knights.
When i turn the power on it just keeps repeating "check it out" (voice) and no lights, leds or anything else.

Any clues or help with this would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Mix

Yep, would say my self a reel is knackered and most probably the alpha 'cause it should tell you the error :)

Hi , thanks for your reply, I have got some extra info for you if it helps,

After being no trouble at all, the machine was switched on one morning and started with this error.

The led's are all working fine 4 green on and 1 green flashing (no reds lit), according to the manual all is well.
The mxu has 1 on and 1 flashing, as does the board behind the reels.
The alpha could well be dead, nothing at all coming thru it and im sure i saw and smelled smoke!
can I use the alpha out of an impulse machine or are they specific to each brand?

could a dodgy alpha cause the stated error or will there be another problem such as the reels as you suggested? I only ask as Im not sure of how to source parts - any ideas?.
Thanks again for your time and comments.

The alpha should be coming on, pretty much 1st. Telling you what the machine is doing while booting up.

I would doubt you Impuse alpha would fit :(

Where to buy an alpha?

Hi, well its definetley the alpha first off, I suppose I must address this issue before I can go any further.
Any clues as to where I could find a nice working alpha?
Any rough guides as to prices I should be looking at?

Just out of interest the alpha in the impulse looks similar, same plug, size etc.., but i dare not plug it in , just in case.....

Thanks again

I may heve one here from a barcrest machine.

I'm unsure if it will fit your machine or not. If you want you could send me your one, I could compair it too my one.

It should fit, i'd expect mpu5 parts are standard but some do have a slightly bigger alpha than others......
