Maygay Beaver Las Vegas not working-need help

My dad has just got this machine from my niece, who had it lying around in her garage for a year or two. http://i585.photobucket.com/albums/ss29 ... C02973.jpg
It's not working, not booting up and some status LED's light up sometimes and then the next time they don't.
Currently on powering up:
Power supply unit-all LED's are on.

MPU Board-
Security LED out
+12v ok
-12v ok
+5v ok
vidisp LED out
Reset LED out

Sometimes all the LED's will work except for vidisp.
Front door board (Lamps) LED is on.

Reel Driver board-LED is on.

Hopper Drive board-LED is out.

Could someone give me some advice please. I'm a novice but my brother is the electrician (works on airplane wings for BA) so any info to get this machine to work would be appreciated. Is there a battery on the mpu board?
