Fruit Machine Noob - Questions

Post by wudsta »

Hi All,

I've got myself a Barcrest Dosh n Pecks fruity and I have a couple of questions;

My speaker seems to emit a constant buzzing sound when the machine is on. I've searched the forum around this and can't find a definitve answer - some say that it's normal, some say that a new PSU is needed. I want to be sure before I drop £35 on a new PSU that it will sort it out.

Is it possible for me to fill the machine with tokens rather than pound coins? It'd be much more fun to play if it actually payed something out, and I don't have £200 spare to fill the hopper with. If this is possible, is there anywhere I can purchase tokens from?

Is my machine a MPU4 or and MPU5 machine? I've had a look around and I cannot find any reference to either.

Do I need a refill key to adjust the volume? Again, I've had a dig around inside and I can't find anything in order to adjust the volume.

Thanks for your time.

speaker buzzing could be caused by vibration, try & make sure its flat/level

i think it can be turned to tokens but its not worth it cost wise

its MPU5 afaik

the mainboard will tell you that & will have a big blue label that says MPU5 or you can see MPU5 engraved into the plastic

should be a small knob somehwere if it can be changed internally, if not then yes you will need a refill key

although there is a volume in the refill menu, alot of the time there is also a volume controll in the test menu,

if you don't know how to access you simply push either your top up button or your secondary switch (under reels) at the same time as the red test button on the game card of your MPU5

i wouldn't worry about the buzzing happends with older machines, just turn the volume down
