I dunno what bar x you have as mine is an old super bar x £15jp from the late 80's lol but i had this exact same problem, just a loud buzz kind of sound from the speaker, almost as if the sound somehow got jammed on one long tone, and the problem with mine was the PSU, or more importantly, lack of power from it, so all i did was opened the main PSU up and inside was one of these jamma power units....

So i decided to turn up the +5v adjustment a little bit with the mindset of well this will do fook all but i might as well try it, and as i turned it up, hey presto, sound unstuck, speaker went 'ding ding ding' reels spun, 'bong, bong, bong' and we were away!

As i said i dunno if the newer magic 7s / bar x 7s etc have the same power unit but if it has got this PSU, or any PSU with a +5v adjuster on, and as long as your careful i would say turning it up slightly to see if it helps cant hurt, just dont whack it all the way round to flat out like i did tho, if it cures it, i would either get a multimeter and test your voltage and set it as near to 5v as possible, or do as i did, turn it up until it comes on, then gently turn it back until it jams again, then back up even gentler so its got just enough, dont want to overvolt it now do we lol

HD1 and 2 are normally for lamps,Hd 9 is for the button lamps, I think HD10 is for the hopper dump control, not sure about the others, but there are more connectors on the old electrocoin machines, but most of them are unused because this was originally a universal board that could be used without designing a new board.
