changing the jackpo on your fruitmachine

my mate has a £25 cabin fever.
can it be changed to £35 just by changing the jackpot chip thingy or can these not be changed like that?

and if cluedo's have seen the £70 jp upgrade can these be made £70jp ? if not, why ?

With Cluedo, pretty sure you'd need different EPROMs for £35 versions and £70 versions.

As for Cabin, I'm sure an EPROM from the £35 era with a stake/prizes key could be set to £25/£5 and your choice of multiple stakes

what are eproms? can you get them for the cabin to make it £70jp?

They're the chip that slots into the main board, basically the chip with the program on it, so when a machine gets 'rechipped' it's the EPROMS that get changed over.
Not sure how easy it is just to buy the chip without the whole machine tbh....

best bet would be to sign up at the mpu mecca & ask someone to burn you a set

im sure they will provided you send them the EEPROMS & beer tokens

and cluedo does require diff chips as some of the features are switched around
