hello,

i recently have been donated a impulse wipeout, it worked for a few days until money became jammed in the slot. i opened the machine and freed the money, the alarm sounded for a second then went off. now the machine only turns on and makes a humming noise through the speaker, sometimes the lights come on sometimes they dont.

i would like it to work again because it looks awesome at the bottom of the stairs, but im a student and dont want to lay down too much cash on it.

can anyone help?

check the led's on the main board, there should be 4 on constant and one flashing if all the boards have booted, the fifth led is not used on "epoch" tech. also all the boards have got a flashing green led check if they're all working. if not its more than likely that board has blown
theres plenty of spares on ebay.

if it is the main board that is gone will i have to buy a wipeout one ore will i be able to buy just any one from ebay?

if its the main board, then you need to get on of the same boards, is it an "epoch"? if so you just need to swap the chips off your old one onto your replacement. but as i said check all the boards are working first, theres a flashing green light on all of them, and on the main board, theres 6 leds four on permanant and one flashing, the other doesn't get used.
i'm no tech expert but as ive got an impulse trailblazer fruit i'm going off what my boards are doing.
on reading my epoch manual this is what ithe main board should do on powerup:-
"on powerup, led 3,4 & 5 iluminates firstly to show that voltage is present, along with led1 which shows the board has booted up, when led2 illuminates this shows that the software is running".
"the status leds are an indication of error and should all be on under normal conditions until an error occours (led 6 is not used),
there is a voltage error if led 3,4,5 are not illuminated, led 2 off indicates the software is not running and led1off indicates the board has not booted properly"
ive copied that out of the manual so open your machine then switch on and see what the leds do, then you will have a good indication of whats going wrong, as i said make sure all the leds on the other boards (reels lamps stake and prize and hopper) leds are flashing green. hope that helps.

hi, it just says mpu5 on the acual board, i have opened up the machine and i have 4 green lights 1 green light flashing and a red 1 that isnt lit at all under the green 1 that is flashing it says status . i have ordered a new board from ebay will this solve the problem do you think ?thanks
