Hi all I know this has been mentioned before but i cant seam to get it working.
I have a Giant gems machine and it is currently on 30p play and i would like to make it 5p or 10p play if possible.
their are 8 switches on the board all are turned to the off position at the moment and if i change switch 5,6,7 to the on position as in the previous post mentions the machine boots up as invalid key.
there is a skicker also in the machine that says the following
1-direct payout
2-low bank limit
3-d.h.l refil
4-clear bank demo
5-% switch
6-% switch
7-% switch
8-% switch
also there are 4 switches that are percent switches
and also 8 more switches in some thing called bank 2
1-not used
2-main tamper disable
3-not used
4-o.c.d inhibit
5-ram clear
6-coin alarm inhibit
7-odd percent
8-single coin entry
any help would be great thank you all.

Confused!
You say sw 5-8 are % settings
then you say
"also there are 4 switches that are percent switches"
Are you talking about the same switches?
If so, why?
your question is about price of play.
you also mention 'another stake key', does this mean you have one already?
if so what have you got?
Confused!

hi there
the % on the switches 5,6,7,and 8 are for altering the credit i think and the 4 other percent keys that are on a seperate bit are marked up as percentage keys i think these are for altering the easy hardness of game play.
I have looked on the net and it says to alter the % on keys 5,6,7 to alter how much money i put in but when i do this i get an error.
hope this is a little clearer thanks.

Ahh
Right, sound like your machine's % can be set either by the on board switches & you also have a separate % key fitted as well.
None of the above will alter the price of play,
you need to locate the stake/prize key (should have 30p/£25 or similar marked on the top of it) and change that one for a switchable one - provided your software will allow other settings of course.

In the machine there is a module with 8 dip switches on it
The switches that are
1-direct payout
2-low bank limit
3-d.h.l refil
4-clear bank demo
5-% switch
6-% switch
7-% switch
8-% switch
They have a sticker next to them and it says stake prize key.
do i need to unplug this and replace with an other one similar.
many thanks

I think a photo will be the quickest way to understand what you are referring to tbh.

In the second picture,
the stake key is the one you need to change
Do you have the setting for that key ?

I have tried to alter the settings but when i do it says invalid key
at the moment I have pressed all 4 stake key dip switches to the off position and it works as 30p
I have tried to set it on various settings but it only works when I set the dip switches to off.

Hey I am having the same problem with my stakes & prizes key. I have it set to £5JP (0001) but whenever I try to change it to any other setting I get an error (4.9 stake key err).

hi, yeah it's a common problem with some Stake/prize keys
what do you want your machine set to? 10p play £5 jp? (cat D)
try turning all all dil-switches on your game card to off
take your black stake key and try turning
1 and 8 on.
(1 0 0 0 0 0 0 1) or if that doesn't work
try
4 and 5 on - rest off
(0 0 0 1 1 0 0 0)
