hi everyone.

Just got a fruit machine called Red Hot Fivers not sure who makes it but it was working fine yesterday.
today i switched the refill key over and topped it up to £50 float.
after that when i switched it back on i got mpu reset error with alarm.
when the alarm stops it looks like its back to normal until you try to put a coin in then it says meter malfunction(with alarm going)
it then stops and lets you play your game but if you win any money it sets the alarm off again when trying to pay out the money.

any help would be greatly appreciated
thank you

ok, i a was guessing the coin meter was broken so i bought a new one.
still the same error 6.1 when trying to insert any coin or error 6.2 when trying to pay out.
the meter works when in test mode and also when you have the refill key turned to top up the £1 coins.
has anyone else had this problem and knows the solution for it before i scrap the machine.
thank you

I'm assuming these are mechanical meters?

What meters did you replace? as it sounds like the cash in and cash out meters not working- normally in bottom of cab.

Unusual for both to break at the same time, I would suspect a faulty connection on common wire to the meters (12v?) or loose plug on mpu?

Put it into test and use the meter test to see that each meter clicks over

thanks for the reply
it is mechanical
my machine only has 1 meter its in the top right corner of the machine.
there are wires in the bottom of the machine thats not connected to anything but it was working fine without anything connected to them before hand.
i have checked the plug onto the board and it seems fine.
not sure how i would go about checking anything else though ?

Is it possible to bypass the meter somehow?
I tried pulling the plug off from the board but it did not work.
There is about 10 wires to the plug but only 1 meter on the machine

Meters can't be bypassed. The machine assumes fraud if they are.

This is a strange one,if I turn the refill key and put in any coin that the machine accepts then turn the key back the machine works perfect until you switch it off again at the wall
