Hi
I recently purchased what I thought was a bargain 'Bell Fruit Monster Cash' fruit machine via eBay, turns out there is quite a bit wrong with it to say the least.
It is currently set on £1 play, £75 jackpot. It has a note accepter fitted. I was told it was set on free play but I’m not sure how to check this.
I have the manual but can’t make anything of it, apparently fitted with ‘Scorpion 4’??
On power up it displays ‘initialising’, a few pops from the speaker, some of the lights flash a couple of times and it spins the reels.
After this it’s pretty random on what happens next,
Sometimes it will go to demo mode, allow a few plays then sets the alarm off and displays an error code
Other times it will go straight into the alarm after initialisation, last time it was error code ‘RAM ERR 53’ with ‘15’ displayed in the top cash pot display.
There have been times when no alarm sounds and its say IOU £6 and nothing else.
Other error codes include ‘Mech Note Err 15’
The lights don’t work in the brief demo mode it allows
Apologies for the long first post but thought it would be better to get as much info on as possible.
I’m trying to avoid spending lots on engineer call outs as it was only supposed to be a bit of fun. I’m handy with electrics of not afraid of getting stuck in.
Anyone that can help or point me in the right direction?
Bell Fruit Monster Cash fruit machine broken, please help

ram error 53 means the battery has failed, this alarm will sound once then the machine should set up.
mech note error 15 means the note acceptor is not fitted properly.
i would gues that the machine has lost the bnv key because the battery has failed, an easy fix (if you know what your doing) assuming the notre acceptor isnt faulty.
i dunno what he means by free play, i'm guseeing whoever sold it to you could not get it working properly with the door closed , so has been playing it with the door open in demo mode.
my advice to you would be to open a dispute with ebay.
for one thing, the guy should not have sold you the machine on ebay, unless both the seller and yourself hold operators licenses.
if your wanting to go down the road of fixing it, first thing to do is check the battery, if it looks ok ten disconnect the speaker and leave the machine on overnight to charge the battery.
then you have a choice of wether to sort out the note acceptor or disconnect it...

Thanks for the advice,
I've had it plugged in for a full day and it still plays up.
when the door is shut the alarm will sound and it now reads 'on/off Alm 48'
On lifting the lid the alarm stops, it then goes through the initialising stage and reads '0954 non dat'
It then offers to read meters, cancelling this leads to demo mode with 20 spins. The lights do not work

the on/off alarm will clear itslef if you switch it on with doors closed and leave it for 5/10 minutes. (disconnect the speaker to save the noise lol)
with door open it is supposed to offer read meters then go into demo , so that is right.
the no lights problem is a bit worrying though.
close the doors and leave it untill the on/off alarm dissapears. if the lamps dont come on with the doors shut then post back.
btw is it a club machine or an awp?

Its a Cat C AWP
Had the machine on for two days and it now says '53 Mech error' (the manual says error code 53 should read "ram error")
I have tried disconnecting the note reader but error still continues which makes me think it isn't that
The lights problem gets even stranger. On open/close of the door there are 9 lights that flash on and off, always same 9 lights but they are in random places (i.e. not one section)
After scrolling to the lights test in the test menu none of the bulbs work, even when individual lamps that work on open/close are selected.
I've checked all connections and even tried swapping bulbs but its always the same position that works on open/close of the door
anyone got any ideas? If not its getting scrapped off sadly
