Barcrest Action Pack help please

Hi, I just bought a Barcrest action pack fruit machine but could do with some help getting it fully operational.

I am unable to get any plays / credits to register. The coin hopper (i think this is what its called has been removed - its what the coins would go into first when put into machine).

The token hopper is all in place but nothing happens when i put in a token.

When the machine is plugged in it shows BANK0.5 and PLAYS AP ? Most of the time after the machine has finished setting up these both go to zero but occasionally i get a random number of credits (between4-6)

What i would really like to do is be able to just put on free plays? I seem to think that there is a button in the back sdomewhere which would register credits without money?

any help please would be appreciated

Check the manual :P Start machine with bottom open for Free Play.
