Me and a mate are thinking if giving it a go in 2010, but I will be conducting a THOUROUGH safety investigation first!

Just reading about the Rickshaw Run, at first I thought it was a Mornington Crescent wind up, but it seems real enough.
I've never done that. I get anxious waiting for the coach to turn up on a package holiday excursion.
On an unrelated note, I think the Red Arrows have just flown over my house. There was an almighty swooshing that sounded like a wasp with a supersize turbocharger was about to smash through the window, on investigation I saw a fleet of planes in arrow formation.
That is probably the sort of stuff you will see on a daily basis on one of these treks, good luck.
"These adventures are genuinely dangerous things to do. The website is written in a light-hearted fashion but you cannot underestimate the risks involved in undertaking this kind of adventure. Your chance of dying can be very high, some past teams have been seriously injured. These adventures are not a glorified holiday. They are an adventure and so by their very nature extremely risky. You really are on your own. If it all goes wrong, that's it, tough."

My mate was a steward at the launch of the 09 one yesterday, to guarentee a place next year. I'm mulling it over, if I decide to go I'd definately avoid the Afghanistan route!
