Was just watching Classic who Wants to be a millionaire..

Some Guy got up to £250,000 went 50-50 and guessed wrong!! He lost £218,000... WHOOPS!

now Im a stupid gambler, but on that much What is the point when you don't know the answer!
Thats like being given £250,000 on a roulette machine (impossible I know) and having the option to take it, or putting £218,000 on Red to make £500,000....

personally i feel well sick for people that lose that much in one go! They are both life changing amounts of money but £250,000 you wouldnt have to work ever!

Jus think you could go force 10 bfm in 1 day :D ooooouuuucccchhhh

250k wouldn't mean you never had to work again  If you were about 50 odd then maybe, but for someone younger i don't think it would be enough!

It also depends on what lifestyle the player is used to.

If you are 30 odd on there and win that, i don't think you'd have enough. Say average Joe earns 15k a year, thats about 16.5 years work to earn that. Plus you'd obviously spend some of it on something big, so there's no way it'd be enough to live off for life!

Depends if you are going to splurge it on bangles and baubles or not.

£250,000 invested (yawn) at 6% will earn you £15,000 a year in interest.

Personally, I would probably buy a pub, or maybe an amusement arcade. Then fill it with all the old classics but fitted with the latest tightest chips around. Then invite you all in to spend your hard earned money.

Still, at least you'd have fun doing so. No s16 machines, No rainbow bingo, No pointless porcelain dolls in the windows!

surely there would be a wee nook for a countdown teapot in Your Eminence's window?

My Countdown teapot... er... broke.

owning an arcade has to be one of the most surefire bets to make money ever..
even if you put it in a town with a well kwown brand already such as shiperleys, nobles or showboat if you put the right machines in there they will come..the only outlay you hvae is the initial machine cost...and most arcades will have older, cheaper ones anyways..

money for doing ABSOLUTLY nothing :D

anyone wana go into partnership :P
