Fruit Machine Chat

Someone at my place of work has been sending text messages to two former colleagues (both female) and signing them with my name. Thankfully, they haven't been rude / insulting messages, just 'Hi, sorry you've left, would've liked to get to know you better...' type affairs.

Also, the two ex-colleagues are happy to forget all about them and they both are happy that it certainly wasn't me that sent them.

-I hardly knew the two people in question.
-I certainly did not have access to their mobile number.
-The texts they received were from a different number to mine.
-Why would you constantly state your full name at the end of every text?

The thing is, what should I do about it now? I've an excellent 'name' throughout my organisation and do not want this slur hanging over it, even if it is only a handful of people that know about it. I don't know what the legal term is for 'impersonating' someone.

I want to find out who it was and make an official complaint I think.

Frankly, a bit pissed off as it has ruined my short break (Thurs-Mon).

You want to be reporting this to the head of HR and your immediate manager in writing.

Very good call H. I want to do everything 'official' and get it sorted. I've been wracking my brain for a possible suspect, but no-one springs to mind at all...

Also try to obtain the number. You maybe able to use it in the future for phoning in the office and to see if it rings.
If you already have it then pm me with it and i will give it a random 'winner' call and get a name for you.

Cheers mate. Sadly, I don't have access to the number and almost don't want to due to association. They do have it 'as evidence' back at the ranch but it's a voicemail job all the time.

O2 voicemail by any chance?
O2's free sim offers have alot to answer for.....

I wouldn't be surprised. That reminds me - a lot of those were ordered recently at the office by a couple of persons...
