Old Trafford last night

Post by mjd »

Had a superb viewpoint last night of a truely wonderful Manchester United performance! Great Atmosphere, and Top of the leeeeeeeaaaaggguuueee!!

Image

We were in the north stand, at the top one of the upper tiers

Image

Better sense of perspective

Image

Ronny lining up a practice thumper!

Image

A great first half for the lads, some great football and Paul Scholes had already cemented Man of the Match at this point! He was unbeleivable!

Image

Such an awesome arena! I loved it :D

5 Points clear at the top, I think this was a very important victory for us. Only a couple of hairy moments delivered from the fulham attack, thankfully both went wide. The biggest stage of the season is now upon us. Come On United!!

I've been too OT once myself, it was the first game of the season after the 1998 world cup where Beckham was sent off against the Argies, Leicester where 2-1 in front with minutes left and Beckham got boo'd every kick he took, no prizes for guessing who got the equalizer at the death.

Still a great stadium though.

Some more great pictures mate! Unfortunately, I had to resort to listening to the match last night as opposed to anything else, but it sounded a great game!

Interesting weekend coming up with:

Chelsea v Villa
Liverpool v Man City

We've got Blackburn at OT. If things go well, we could be 7 points (or even 8!) clear come the end of the weekend!

It was hard work finding the match online, All my usual paces got intercepted within the 1st half. Finally found 1 again with about half hour left.

is it true that Fulham had a stonewall penalty, but andre mariner bottled it because it is too much like hard work getting an earful of grief from that whingeing scottish bastard when his team doesn't get every single decision in the 90 minutes (or 98 if the result is not going the right way.)?
nobody ever wins on those things.

Old trafford for Liverpool V Chelsea F.A cup semi final I was in the south stand U34 the very back row , couldnt get any higher lol. Very good stadium when we were there..
But without Liverpool there its just a stadium full of bitter and twisted prawn crackers who couldnt create an atmsophere to save there lives

I get me N96 in a couple of days so when im in the Kop for the Liverpool V Madrid game il take some pictures and show you how a smaller stadium has more history, passion and most of all true supporters!!!

Most of the man ure fans are day trippers wearing jester hats and carrying a bag full of goodies from the store!

Get real!!

MJD good phtotos by the way!! - that was not a personal thing I got nothing against you only the fact that you support a shower of shite!! so no hard feelings

Lol!! how ironic that a supporter of a club thats fans only get arroused for european nights should be taking the micky out of another club with the same problem
If you want to watch football stick to who you support, but if you want to witness and take part in the best atmosphere, get yourself down to the brittania stadium!! There's not many that match us for singing.
Shame about our hoofball though.

MJD - Great pics as always mate! A few on here already know that I'm a Fulham season ticket holder, and at 2-0 after half an hour we were pleased with 3-0 and a bit of passing practice in the second half .. :)

Gambogaz - You needed ESPN Taiwan via SopCast last night, the stream was unbroken and perfect (although the commentary was in Taiwanese). PM me if you'd like a peek at my long list of footy streams ...

Isty - Yes it was a clear penalty - and the referee had a clear view. It had kinda reached the point where it didn't really matter but hey, it should still have been given. For a match with no real tackles, there were a lot of free kicks ...

Matt V - The rain didn't deprive England of a test victory, Andrew Strauss wasting time yesterday with his bizarre notion that the total HAD to be 500+ was what did it for us - why on earth would he send in a nightwatchman when you're effectively 315/1? It lost valuable time and ultimately, the final wicket ...

Anfield Road - I think you mean that Liverpool's rather dour performance in that game at Stoke cost you - not Stoke themselves!
This machine may at times offer a choice where the player has every chance of bankruptcy

Yeah I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking this about putting Anderson in as a nightwatchman, we were 315 in front, just stick Shah or KP in, bat like a one dayer for 15 overs and then a 20/20 for 20 overs, then you get 5 sessions to bowl them out and you still get the 500 lead.

I didn't see the game live but in the media that I read and listened to, the decision to send Anderson in wasn't questioned but it was fucking odd and IMO very unnecessary given the match situation.
