Job Centre Grrrrr

Before every one starts about being an unemployed waster blah de blah, yes i am, well unemployed anyway

Unfortunatly, having 6 children all under the age of 6 kinda restricts the scope for me and my partner to find sutable employment, while meeting rent and living expences, as well as child care.

Now 3 of our kids are at school, i want to return to the working life, but looking on the job centre site, stating the area im willing to travell, full time employment, no silly wages asked for, the results came on the page as 7.

7 jobs within a 25 mile radius of Southend, are you fucking kidding me!

Now i'm not a qualified rng nurse, so that leave 4 jobs to choose from, nor am i a dental assistant, down to 3. I still have not re-sat my driving test after my ban was lifted for the umpteenth time, so that leaves 1 job.

A builders mate... cool, i click on the page, get the phone number, ring....

Just to find out the vacancy was filled LAST MONDAY, and the vacancy should have been removed.

I rung the job centre to quiry this, and they freely admitted that the site runs at least a week behind for updates and removal.

Talk about make it easy for a bloke who genuinly wants to find work.

I must have my head buried in the sand, are things really that bad out there?

Get on to Monster and upload a CV. Yes, you get a lot of agencies and temporary offers of work (may / may not be suitable) but you'll be surprised at the number of responses you'll get if you've got a reasonable education / experience to put up on there... ;)
