Ouch!

I was walking home in the early hours of tuesday morning, after a skinful of lager, when I tripped and fell forwards breaking my ankle in two places.
It was the snows fault. What I think happened was the snow covered the kerb and I didnt realise, until it was too late. Not really sure, it was £1 a pint night so that didnt help!
I remember laying down in the snow for about 10 minutes before I could work through pain to drag myself up and sit on a nearby bench so I could ring an ambulance.
Spent most of yesterday doped up to the eyeballs.
Im going to be in a tight cast for 6 weeks now and laid up in bed. I cant even move about because it throbs like hell when I do. I have just been discharged from hospital and am now at home.
Does anyone have any tips for when it itches? As I was warned against pushing objects down the cast. A nurse told me that a hairdryer on cool setting will help, but I havent tried it yet.

Nope safe as houses, safe as taking on an unchipped 4dinging Reel King! Potential cumulative sedative effect with the codeine + earlier generation antihistamines, but that's about the worst of it. Just checking the BNF here in the Nudgecave, hmmmm, ulcer drugs, probably omeprazole or lansoprazole, one of the PPIs I would suspect. Again no problem, can't see any problems here unless you have a specific allergy to a certain type of antihistamine (unlikely). Also if you're pregnant you shouldn't be taking them unless under the advice of a doctor
