LOL - thats exactly what I would do...

... only I wouldnt park it in the courts car park!

You dont need a license to drive a car. The car will still function exactly as it did before you lost it.

It would be hard to get away with it nowadays cos of the NPR cameras...

But I always said when I slotted full time doing 1000+ miles a week and earning a few k a month, if I lost my license, it would not stop me driving 'n slotting. Only difference would be that I would sign on to get my revenge.

I dont really speed in built up areas (certainly not around parked cars / schools etc), but motorways/dual carraigeways are comfortable 90/100 during day, or 120+ late at night/early in mornings.

I keep my cars well maintained, didnt drink and had more driving experience at 21 than most people do in their 50s, so whats bad about me doing 95 when some stupid woman that doesnt know what mirrors are for can legally do 70?

the 70 speed limit is rather stupid for motorways, when you consider they have a 60 speed limit for tiny single track roads...

Also everyone in the fast lane (yes yes dont tell me its not meant as this, but that's effectively what it is) goes between 80-100mph anyhow, you'd not be stopped for it really I doubt. If you see a cop car you just go slower past it then speed up again.

If they raised it to 90 people would just do 100-110 which would be twice as dangerous, especially with all those left hand drives on the road nowadays.

Totally agree, it took me 50 minutes to drive 15 miles last night because of the snow/ice and people were haring past me at 50mph on a dual carriageway with no tracks, I was totally shocked. But in good conditions I'll do 100 on a dual no worries at all.

Everyone tanks it when its late or quiet surely. I got all the way from Donington Park services to home in 1hr 10mins (100 miles) last time i was away at a mates gaff. Late sunday night, foot to the floor in the right hand lane. Only reason i dropped to 70mph was because of the stupid average speed check cameras that run for 15 miles from Huntingdon down the A14. Grrr stupid poxy road.

If you switch lanes after the first camera, the average speed check can't pick you up

It can now - they fixed that little oversight apparently.

Indeed!
I could be wrong but I definitely read about it. And I am certainly in no hurry test the theory in my own car!

Exactly my thinking.....i've heard that particular rumour before, not sure if it's true though.....and don't really want to find out the hard way! :D

One chunk if luck i had recently though, got flashed doing 45mph in a 30mph zone near Bexleyheath a while back. Stupid piece of road, never looks like a 30, but anyway i got flashed and feared the worst. Nothing has come through though, so i've wormed my way out of it! Lucky boy!

I was doing 60/65 through Average speed cameras (50) switching lanes in Dec 08 and got no tickets.

The other thing you can do, is on approach of a camera, tailgate a large vehicle so that they cannot see your number plate.

Both practices are dangereous but better than receiving a ticket.
